Discovery Cove closing time and going to Sea World

Ok, so in two weeks I'm gonna try to cram as much stuff into a week as I can.

Discovery Cove is listed as open till 5:30. Does that mean everyone is out of the park by 5:30? Or everyone is out of the water at 5:30, now go buy some souvenirs and photos on the way out?

I'm looking at SeaWorld's show schedule, and with the 3 extra summer shows, I don't see how its possible to get to all 8 shows and the rest of the exhibits in one day. So I'm figuring I'll go to Sea World the night I leave Discovery Cove and try to see some of the stuff then.

I've been told that these two parks are "across the street" from each other, but is it really that close? How long will it take me to get into Sea World once I leave Discovery Cove?

Normally it is out of the water at 5:30 and then you have plenty of time to get showered, changed, get your photos and any souvenirs. However, during the summer months they have the Twilight Discovery in the evening so they might be a bit sharper.
How long it will take you depends how you get there. If you come by car, they exit to Discovery Cove is pretty much exactly opposite the car entrance of Seaworld so it should be a couple of minutes depending on the traffic. Walking takes a fair while as the turnstiles are quite far from the car entrance. If you came by shuttle or taxi, as Discovery Cove to drop you at Seaworld. They run a regular free shuttle between Discovery Cove and Seaworld and that lets you out where the shuttles and the I Ride Trolley stop at Seaworld.
