Discovery Cove Camera Question

What type of camera(s) would you recommend we bring to DC? Digital, underwater, video? Is it possible to take underwater pictures with dolphins or other areas. Is your digital camera and video useful around the water or should we just do without them. And are they safe by your chairs?

Any first-hand advice would be appreciated.

We are taking disposable waterproof cameras - DC site specifically says you cannot take a camera in with your dolphin swim, but all other water areas are fine.

We used disposable underwater cameras. The best pictures you can take are underwater. It is true they dont let you take your own camera during the dolphin part, because they want to sell you a photo and a video.

Definitely get underwater disposables. We burned through three. I also had a 35MM for land shots. If you're concerned about leaving anything valuable out, the lockers are not too far away. That's where I kept my 35MM while swimming.

I personally wouldn't. You will be spending 80% of the time there in the water. There is a lazy river you snorkel in (fresh water without fish) and salt water ponds with fish. My 8 year old didnt like the salt water with fish, made her nervous. There is a big aviary section that you could video tape if you are an avid bird watcher.

we brought a video camera in with us but ended up putting it into the locker for the whole day. definitely disposable underwater cameras are the best option. if i was going again i wouldnt bring the video camera, maybe you should bring it and decide for yourself when u get there, u can always resort back to the locker????
