Discovery Cove after cruise, late arrival bad idea?

We are going to Discovery Cove in October. We would like to go right after we get off our cruise. We will take off our own luggage, so we hope to be off the ship at 7:30am and then I am thinking we could be at Discovery Cove by 9:30am at the latest. Is this a bad idea for a late arrival at this time of the year? We have a one way rental car for transportation that day so it is easy for us to get there. If we do fit it in to another day, is a taxi the best way to get there from Disney World resrots? Thanks for your help. I have been going over all of our options and I know no one else understands these decisions like you all do!

My personal opinion would be to wait until another day for DC when you don't have other commitments. Its a full day park, and best enjoyed when you can be there just before park opening and stay until close.

I think you will be disappointed if you try to "squeeze it in". Disappointed not in the park (because its beautiful and awesome) but disappointed that you paid a premium amount of money and couldn't fully get your money and complete day's worth.

If you can schedule it for another day, I think you would be thankful in the long run. I completely understand and appreciate that having a car that day would make transportation more convenient. Perhaps someone else who has done a DC day while staying at Disney can suggest a cost effective and easy way for you to get to and from DC on another day of your vacation.

Thank you! I scheduled it for another day so we can make sure an arrive early. Now I just have to figure out how to get there. Has anyone taken a taxi to DC lately?

I have not taken a taxi to Sea World, but I did take a taxi From Universal Studios to All Star Music -- it was about $45.
