Discovery Cove 5/31/15

We will be visiting Discovery Cove on 5/31/15 for the first time
Me, husband, 17 yr old and 7 yr old
We are doing the dolphin encounter/swim

Is there anything we need to bring with us besides a change of clothes to change into when we leave?
I guess we will wear our swimsuits to Discovery Cove and everyone w/ have swim shoes.

I know we need to be there early as check in begins at 7:15am and we will receive our dolphin swim time at check in

We would like to eat both breakfast and lunch there and I guess will plans those around the dolphin swim time. What time does lunch end?

I am guessing at check in someone w/ who us where the lockers are?

I like to bring combs/brushes for our hair. And a camera with extra batteries. Sunglasses, too....and hats (but we're pasty white and need the coverage!).

I also bring photo ID (needed, in particular, if you want to be able to drink alcohol) and confirmation of our reservation.

Lunch ended at 3:30 pm, if I remember correctly. Snacks were available until the park closed. They have some great soft pretzels for late-afternoon munchies!

After you check in, you'll head into the park where you'll be stopped by a park photographer for your family photo (a complimentary 6 x 8 will be ready for you to pick up at the end of the day). When you get to the restaurant/guest services area, there will be additional staff members to give a small "orientation" to small groups, basically telling you where to pick up your wetsuits or vests, where the lockers are, that the food is included and unlimited, dining hours, etc. And there are lots and lots of staff throughout the park to ask for assistance at any time. They are exceedingly friendly and helpful!

We were there last week for the first time. We really enjoyed it thou it was cold and rainy the day we went. We were a little disappointed in the dolphin encounter / swim. They break you into groups of about 8-10, with each group "sharing" one dolphin. I did get to pet the dolphin 3 times, I kissed the dolphin, and she pulled me thru the for about 10 seconds. My individual time spent having contact with the dolphin was about 30 seconds. I did enjoy my free time where I was able to snorkel with the fish in the large tank. You make no reference to doing the Sea Venture. This was the best part of the day and I highly recommend it. ( The water was pretty cold....74. The water in the lazy river was 84...much more pleasant ).

I think lunch ends at 4. Breakfast ends at 11.

All that being said....we plan to do it again next year.
