Discovery cove 4th July

Hi

Wonder if you would recommend booking discovery cove on the 4th of July. We are staying onsite at Disney and really don't fancy the Disney parks that day?

Also my DH doesn't swim so just ds and I will do the dolphin swim but will there be stuff dh can do?

Booking DC on a day that is bound to be super busy (in your case, a national holiday like the 4th of July) is a GREAT idea. DC has a limited number of guests per day, so its never crowded....even on a holiday. We spend New Years Day 2012 there, and it was incredible . So peaceful when the rest of Orlando was so hectic!

For your DH, he could feed the birds in the aviary, relax on a lounge chair on the beach or in one of the sunken loungers at the entrance to the Freshwater Oasis, and wade in the Grand Reef (even if he just went in up to his knees or so, the sting rays will still swim around him.....a very cool experience, even if he chooses not to snorkel).

Just one other question, do they provide you with plenty sun lotion as you are not allowed to use your own? Coming from the uk we are all pale freckled souls that seldom see sunshine!!

LOL, as a pasty white Canadian, I totally hear you on the need for sun protection!!!

Each person gets one packet of sunscreen in their snorkel package. But you can ask for more whenever you need it, and a DC staffer will be happy to oblige.

Be aware that their sunscreen is super thick and rather laborious to apply.....you may end up looking like a ghost for a few minutes before it all manages to absorb into your skin!
