Lesley, BTW a BIG thanks for recommending Derek! We added to our DVC in less than a year! I don't post as much as I should (you know way too many subscribed tr's) but I wanted to wish you the most fantabulous vacation ever! BTW, we are headed to AKV Jambo for our first DVC stay ever and can't wait to hear all about it from you! We'll be there real soon! Also, can you pls take as many pics as you can from Simbas Club, the Pool, and list the hours of the kids activities. Can't wait for your trippie!!!

Hi guys,
We check out of AKL today, I am soooooooooooo sad to leave this beautiful place, I feel bad because I already feel Saratoga will disappoint and I've never even seen it. So proud to call AKL home and can't wait to return over and over again.
Yes, I did take pics of the AKL lobby and gift shop and Mara but the pics don't do them justice at all. Just got a pic of the outside of Simba's, but the kids loved it so much that they went two times and begged for more. If you have specific questions about it I am happy to answer.
As for the kids activities, I happen to have that slip of paper right here on the table with me so I'll type it now for you before I loose it in our SSR move:
Flamingo Activity: 9:30 Flamingo Pond
Track the Animals: 10:30-12:30- Flamingo Pond
Music of the Savanna: 5:00 Sunset Lounge
Wildlife Games: 6:30 Sunset Lounge
All of the above activities earn the kids beads and last about 15 minutes.
They also have trading in the gift shop with king pin, animal tracking with night vision goggles from 9-11pm nightly, craft time (a different craft every single day), face painting at Mara, cookie decorating at Boma, stories by the firepit nightly followed by a musical parade for the kids through the lobby, and pool games every day at 3 at the pool.
We experienced some but not as many as I would like of these activities, can't wait to come back and try more. Not only is this resort amazing but all of the activities for kids are out of this world.
Well I better get off of the computer and start packing, everyone else is still sleeping - we were out until midnight last night. Having a Magical Magical trip, had another special moment at the Hoop De Doo last night, can't wait to share it with you......... stay tuned!

Lesley, Have fun at Saratoga, I can't wait to see where you all end up there. It will be much different than AK but you will have some good times there too! Hey, it's Disney! The do show movies at the main pool at night and I saw lots of kids with noodles just floating there watching! It looked like fun!

Aww, don't be sad about leaving AKL. SSR is awesome too. Yes, it is a LOT different than the Animal Kingdom Lodge but I'm sure you will like it too.

It's great to hear from you! SSR is beautiful in a different way from AKV and I think you'll like it. We've begun to appreciate the various resorts for their many differences. They are all different and unique!
