Discovering DVC timandlesley style-A PTR, 19 days TRIP REPORT LINK PG.119!!!!!

Thanks so much for your support and comments guys, you guys rock:thumbsup2
Well................... Luke did indeed have strep throat and he stayed home from school and still feels yucky. Tim is still in bed with the flu. The repair guy was here at 7:15 a.m. and worked until 3. I had to go to Lowes with him, pick everything out, rent a truck to have it hauled here and help him haul stuff up the steps (of all the days for Tim to be sick). Still no working tub/shower at our house, boy are we gonna get stinky (this is our ONLY bath/shower in the house). He says he should have that part done by the end of the day tomorrow, sure hope so! Then he'll get drywall done on Friday. YIKES, can you hear the dollars flying by?:confused3
Here are some pics for you of the damage and our progress so far. (shoot, I just realized I didn't re-size these before uploading to Photobucket, so sorry
about that, I know what a pain it is when that happens because you have to scroll to read the words, SORRY!):sad2:
Picture of the hole in our ceiling that we had to cut to get the water out:

Here is Luke playing with him:

sorry to hear about the illnesses and damage around there. Hope it all get better quickly.

Lesley---what a mess.....you poor thing!!! I hope they get everything finished and back to normal for you REALLY quickly!!!! I hope both your boys get to feeling better soon, and you and Miss Lauren stay healthy as well!!! Mickey is just TOO adorable for words, of course!!! :goodvibes I forgot who posted it, but I also concur with the poster above who mentioned having Mr. Luke's tonsils checked---I too suffered most of my life from almost constant strep throat infections---they finally decided to take out my tonsils when I was a Junior in high school because apparently they can hold in and trap that infection in them and cause multiple reoccurences. Once they were out, I only suffered from one case of strep about six years ago when I was teaching and we had a REALLY bad year of illnesses in the area forcing many of the schools to close for several days to "decontaminate!" Not too bad. Might be something that might help out the little guy!

Well a few things to cover tonight:

1). Happy to report that Tim and Luke are feeling better:thumbsup2 , our shower is in and we were able to shower last night. He came today to mud and drywall and will return in the morning to finish the mudding and painting, YEAH!!!! The thing that STUNK was we woke up to NO POWER this morning:scared1: , I couldn't believe it and definitely had a "woe is me moment". I had to pack a bag in the dark via candlelight and go to the gym to get ready for work. I couldn't believe it.:sad2:

2). We get to book our couples only trip in the morning, Soooooooooo excited about that.:cool1: :yay:

3). Tim and I watched a travel channel show on Disney this week and were so excited about it and at the end they mentioned upcoming Disney parks. It heightened our interest and we googled it and came up with this, PRETTY AMAZING!!! I sure hope it's true, what do you think::confused3

Can't wait to hear your responses! popcorn:: Wish us luck in the morning, hoping for AKL concierge for those 2 nights.

Lesley

Wow, you've sure been through the ringer in the last few days:scared1: Glad to hear things are back on the upswing! Good luck tomorrow, can't wait to hear all about it!

Hi Lesley, we just got back Wed from our trip to the world and our first stay at Saratoga Springs. It is a beautiful resort. Check out my link, I posted a few things about saratoga springs on it. I hestitate to even call it a Trip report, I've read so many great trip reports on the Dis, I think mine will be more of a photo tour once I get all the pics uploaded that is..:rotfl2:
The world was so , so amazing with all the Christmas decorations, just beautiful. The castle lights, oh my goodness...no words for it:cloud9:
Good lucking planning your trip.:) Based on things you've said, I don't think you will want the congress park section, but I've put up my "review" of it.

Hi Lesley!

1. Sorry Luke and Tim were sick - hope they're doing better.
2. What a wierd thing to happen to your bathroom. I can see you're lucky the damage wasn't worse to the subfloor. Sorry about the $$$$ down the drain. (no pun intended :goodvibes )

3. I checked out that sight - makes you go hmmmmm I could see doing it as part of a package - but $300 per person??? I don't think it would be THAT important to us - so far Discovery Cove hasn't been - although Jim's uncle and aunt have been with their little girl and they loved it!:thumbsup2 They can afford it though. It does look really cool!

I still haven't gotten any further on my trip plans. I'm just so busy - I don't want to do it in a hurry - and my Dad is in the hospital after a mild stroke,so that's keeping us busy. He'll be okay, I think.

I'm glad you have your shower back and your bathroom is almost back to normal. That stinks about the power outage. Thankfully you have the gym, or else that would have really stunk. ;)

That new park seems awesome! I'm not sure about the price, maybe for an adult trip. I'll be interested in hearing more info as it is released. I wish I would have seen that travel channel special, I'm having the Disney blues right now. :)

Enjoy your weekend! I hope you get your AKC ressies!

DNK sound awesome! I would do it once. It's only DH and I so it would be expensive but not as bad as a whole family. I think Disney would have to make it unbelievable at that price. Opening the year of my 10th anniversary. I better start planning now!:lmao:

Thanks for the link on DNK. I'd not heard of that either. Sounds like it'd be very neat. I'm sure by 2011 we'll be up for a new Disney Adventure.:thumbsup2

glad they are feeling better. I heard about that idea a few months ago and again I will say "NO". I do not like it.

6 days till we are in the world. I cannot wait. Pray I can talk Biff into the DVC. I have been hinting towards that or Xbox for Christmas. :rotfl2:

I hope they are incentives or something to make it seem sweeter.

Yes we sure have, no, no upswing yet, check my update here in a minute :sad2:

Thanks for your sweet post. Yes, we are lucky the subfloor wasn't ruined. It does make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm doesn't it. I think Tim and I would try it for a couples only trip. I guess I was hoping for another theme park that the whole family could enjoy that would be more thrill rides, oh well.
So sorry to hear about your dad, hope he gets better soon.
Lesley

Thanks, yes it felt so good to have a shower- yes I was very thankful for that gym membership!!! That show on the travel channel was awesome, hopefully they'll play it again soon I know what those Disney blues are like.
I'll post about our AKC ressies next!

I agree, I would do it once too just Tim and I, perfect for your 10th anniversary : )

Glad you enjoyed the link, it is a different idea, seems believable!
Lesley

Yeah, I do wish it was a theme park with more thrill rides to compete more with Universal, oh well. Hope you get DVC. If you want a referral first and last name email me, sometimes that gives you better discounts depending on what they are offering on the tours on property. Good luck and have a blast on your trip!
Lesley

I hope each of you are having a great weekend!
My great news is that I was able to get a reservation for me and Tim for next November at AKL Concierge for two nights. I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THAT!!!:cool1: The lady on the phone was funny. She said "This is the first time I've been able to book one of these, you called early, that was smart, I'm always telling people "no" for these rooms. "
Lucky us!!!!!:yay:

On the bad news note. Tim has still been working out like crazy and looks so good, he has lost so much weight. (he even lost 2 pounds the week of THANKSGIVIGN!!!:confused3 ). Anyway, he played basketball and did the eliptical machine on Friday and his knee was hurting him. Yesterday he was limping and couldn't bear weight on it and it was swollen so I convinced him to go to urgent care. They did an x ray and told him he has a bone burr on his knee. He has to stay off of his leg using crutches and a knee brace and ice every 30 min. for 3 days and go to an orthopedic specialist and physical therapy. I am praying that will take care of it and we aren't looking at surgery. I am sooooooooo out of sick time at work. I am going to have to take Lauren to work with me on Monday - it's either that or call in sick so I have to take her.
Pray for Tim for a speedy recovery and for his leg to heal. Honestly, how much more can our family take!?!?!
Our bathroom is fixed, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1: So that is good news.

Well, I get to call and make dining plans in two weeks, so I'm looking forward to that. I'll post my updated dining hopes list here soon.
DOESN'T IT STINK THAT CORAL REEF ISN'T DOING THE DIVERS/MENU'S ANYMORE!!! I DON'T GET IT, IT'S THE YEAR OF CELEBRATIONS PROMOTION AND NO CELEBRATION LIKE THAT:confused3 HUGE BUMMER!
Well, gotta go get the kids ready for church.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Lesley
