I was reading a few interesting threads on another board about Discover's price match policy and black friday deals. Apparently those deals do qualify for the price matching. Basically you can buy the black friday deals now at regular price (using your Discover)and file a price match with Discover after black friday. You call them for a form to fill out, send it back with the receipt and ad for the product (Idk what other proof of price they accept) and they will give you the diffetence. The model numbers have to be exactly the same. I did read something about the model number having to be in the ad but I don't know. Anyone who is interested would be smart to call Discover to verify they are price matching black friday and just what exactly the rules are.

I haven't heard of that but it sounds like a great idea! Do they want a copy of the ad with the price on it? It doesn't really make a whole lot of sense how they are going to do it. I guess they want the ad mailed in with the Black Friday price, and a copy of the receipt from that store from when you made the pre-BF purchase?

It's not a black friday specific thing. Certain Discover cards have a price match guarantee and it appears black friday is covered under that. You would just use the normal price match procedure.

Here is another great Discover card thing. If you are shopping on line - make sure you go to Discover, log in, go to Shop Discover and see if that retailer you want to buy from is in the list, if so - go to that website from Discover and get 5 to 20% cash back from Discover. We just bought a Disney inflatable at a great on line sale price from Sears - and I made sure I went to Discover to get to the Sears website and scored 17.55 in Discover cash. The % varies for each retailer, but Discover will usually bump it up in a holiday shopping promotion, so if retailer X you usually get 10% - Discover will have a time frame where you will get 15%.

So, in theory, I could buy the item I REALLY want now (Disney Infinity for xbox 360) from Amazon with my Discover card, cut the add from Walmart for $38.99 & Friday the 29th mail the original receipt & the add to Discover & get the price matched on my charge card right? :cool1: Why does that sound too good to be true? :confused3

I really hope that this would work because I just went back & re-read the Walmart BF add & the deal for the Disney Infinity is "in store only" so who knows if it will be available online. PLUS we will be @ WDW for Thanksgiving & I REALLY don't want to worry with trying to shop online even. :thumbsup2

And if I can sign-in @ Discovery's site and link to Amazon that will be a HUGE bonus too!

Amazon isn't a cashback retailer, but you can link you Discover card and use your cashback rewards to pay on Amazon. When you do this, it adds an option at checkout to use all or a portion of you cashback to pay.

Call or chat with Discover to be sure they are price matching black friday. Apparently they did last year. I'm sure they will explain the process to you. Also make sure your card has the price protection feature. I don't know which cards it's available on. I'm new to Discover but when I read about it on another site I thought should share the info. I'd definitely ask Discover first to make sure they didn't change the black friday policy.

I went to the Discover site & according to the site the price match feature is available to all cards.

Earlier in the week I had put the Xbox 360 on my wishlist & it was $59, I went back to buy it & it was $99!!!!! I don't understand why but I did find one for $59 again & I bought it. I figure that we want it & if the best I can do is $59 then at least I have one on order. BTW, it is on back order & they "don't know when it will be available". I'm hoping that when it is available they will have a better price.

I bought a book on Amazon the other day, received it & then got an email from Amazon saying that the price of the book had come down $.24 & they credited me the difference! I thought that was really weird!
:confused3
