Just wondering if anyone has done the "Discover Atlantis" tour where you go on a boat cruise over to Atlantis? How far of a walk is the dock from Atlantis itself? Is it better to just take a cab? Can someone please tell me the particulars of this? Thanks in advance!

The boat ride is just like a ferry ride, but a little nicer boat on way over. They also narrate a little about the harbor and homes on the shore. On way back, the boat was the same as the crowded ferry. We have also taken a cab when seas were too rough, and apx cost was $3-4 per person one way- about the same as ferry. You can easily do Atlantis by yourself, however the tour is interesting to do once. I was especially impressed with the bridge room information. (Cost per nite and celebs who have stayed there.) Also you get to tour the grounds outside near the beach. If you don't take the tour you cannot go outside in the back. This is guarded and they are very strict about it. However, the aquarium can be seen from the restaurant, just go down the stairs and there are 8-9 large viewing windows. The tour takes you completely through the aquarium and you would see several more species. Of course the casino and shops area are open and you are free to use these areas. Either way, you are sure to enjoy the island, be sure to go.

Just how far do you have to walk to Atlantis from the dock? I know that a cab will drop you off at the door.
