:Pinkbounc Could someone explain how I can get some discounts??? I just booked for April '04 and paid top dollar. I went with the silver plan. I thought that was my best choice but I just don't understand how to get discounts. Please help me!

Thank you in advance!!

Lemons, keep an eye on these boards and www.mousesavers.com for resort discounts. Some discounts are for everyone and some only apply to certain groups. I believe the AAA discount is available for your time at WDW next year. It is a small discount of about 10% and you need to belong to AAA in order to get the reduction. As time goes on they may offer AP room only discounts for annual pass holders or package discounts for anyone.

Just keep checking and if a discount applies to your situation call WDW reservations and apply that to your reservation. You may need to give a code or AAA card # or have an AP when you check in.

I am so confused and don't know where to look !

Please someone explain codes to me.

Someone told me there are codes that come out, I believe on this discussion board or on something like this that would give me a code and then I call WDW and get a discount with that code. Could that be right?

Keep in mind that even when they release some 2004 discount codes, they probably won't apply to that time of year when it is peak season. Definitely keep looking though!

Discount codes are Disney's marketing tool when they are looking to increase attendance usually during non-peak periods. It's a 3 or 4 letter code that you might see advertised in a local paper or stumble upon on this website or mousesavers.com. Sometimes the codes apply to everyone and sometimes they could be for residents of a particular state. If you have an annual pass, there are hotel discount codes for this as well. There is no rhyme or reason as to when codes are released.

When you find one, yes you call CRO and ask them to apply the code to your reservation and then re-calculate the cost.

Hope this helps!

For more info on discounts and how they work plus a great tool to find them go to www.mousesavers.com

Also, I am not sure that discounts are applied to silver plan packages? Anyone know more? (I have not done a package in a good 10 years!)

Is it possible to apply discounts once you have booked your trip? We booked a land/sea package with Liberty travel (the worst) and the travel agency is telling me that whatever price we agreed on at the time of booking is the price even if the prices go down or if there is a special promotion. He also said AAA is out because I did not use it when ewe booked.

I would find out what type of penalty you have with your travel agent if you cancel the reservation. I never use a travel agent so it is no big deal to rebook the reservation under my spouses name and cancel the previous higher priced reservation that was under my name. Then, if a lower price is found I make another reservation under my name and cancel the reservation that was under his name. You do not want to cancel an existing reservation until you have the new lower priced reservation as you never know when a hotel will sell out and even though there are lower prices available they wont apply as there is no room in the inn. Good luck.

Dear Lemon,

I too haven't booked a package in years. We found it has been more economical to book everything ourselves. And also that way we didn't pay for activities we were not going to use. I have also found Mousesavers.com to be a great help when booking travel, tips for discounts on everything from tickets to meals. I also might recommend reading some of the guidebooks before you book your next trip. Some of the unofficial guides were great help to us. We, for instance always prepurchase our park tickets..(AAA or Disney Store...our AAA branch allows anyone to purchase travel related items/trips...I don't know if that is the same all around the country) sometimes we even purchase [tickets]1-2years in advance (park hopper's never expire) that way you save $$ and avoid the inevitable price increase that happens every year.

Have a Great Trip.....!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. If I knew back then..[when we first started traveling to Disney World] what I know now about Disney travel/discounts ...I'd have enough for an extra trip this year!!! It takes a while to learn...but once you do you'll be very happy about what you can save...and put it towards more trips!!!!!!::yes::

Mad4Disne ... are you saying you call the hotel yourself and book instead of calling the Disney phone (CRO I think it is called)? I'm not up on the abbreviations yet. Then what do you do if you want your meals paid for in advance? We like the idea of just spending our money of souvineers than spending money on food.
(I don't think I would order Lobster just about every night).

I am just so confused and I know I am paying alot of money for just the 3 of us. We are looking at close to $7200. with air fair.

That's why I'm looking for some kind of discount which I have know idea how to get.

I went with the Silver Pkg. Yes I will use the water parks and the meal plan. That's why I go with this pkg. Is that a BAD idea? I am not in the CLUB ( which I understand I can't get into anymore if I wanted to). I am so looking for DISCOUNTS. HELP PLEASE tell me what I am doing wrong!!! Please!!
