Discounts- sept or oct?

I posted this on a different board, but thought I'd post it here. We're deciding between sept and oct. It seems that october has better weather, but I don't see as many deals listed for october as there are for september. What do you all think? We're skipping the dining plan (am a vegetarian and we can probably be more frugal without it).

If you don't care about dining, the room-only discounts for September and October are fairly similar. Much of September will be less expensive than October with the same discount, due to rack rate seasons. August 19-September 17 is a lower rack rate than September 18-October 6, and October 10-October 29. (The weekend of Columbus Day, rates hike up.) They fall again after Halloween.

I second what the previous poster is saying. Free dining is the big September discount. If you aren't planning to take advantage of free dining then I would skip September and plan for October.
