Discounts/Rates in April/May

This is our first trip to Disney and planning kind of last minute. Our Disney TA said that discounts/rates for April and May won't come out until the beginning of January, so right now it is a lot more than the rate for the beginning of March. One of our main factors in deciding a time to go is price, so how do we decide when we don't know the April/May offers? The beginning of March is a Play/Stay/Dine. Is there a way to find out typically if the rates/special offers are more or less expensive in April/May than beginning of March?

You can check out websites, I think it's mousesavers.com or allears.net, they have historical discount lists, although the dates vary slightly year to year. I can tell you I got a pin code in my email that runs through May 31, with at least Easter week blacked out (can't remember the exact blackout dates), but I'm not sure if the general public discounts will be the same. I think I've read on here from others that they are usually similar. So, most of April and all of May are probably pretty safe bets. (for room discounts only) Good luck, and happy hunting!!

By the way, you can always book now so you can start planning, then adjust your dates after discounts come out. Good luck!! :goodvibes

Sorry, just reread your post. There is a late winter room only discount available right now as well as SPD. In my PIN, the discount was about the same as the late winter offer, so you could get an estimate from that.

Well it is almost $1000 more for us for 7 nights when i compare the same dates Feb. 28 - March 7 using the Play, Stay & Dine package and the room only discount with tickets and dining! Is the Play. stay. & Dine really that much better of a deal? If so, we will definitely go Feb. 28 because i can't justify spending that much more to go in April! Have they ever offered a package like this in April or something as good? We want to pick our dates based on price but can't get April discount pricing right now to compare!

I think a lot depends on where you are looking to stay. Deluxe resorts get the biggest discounts, so if you are looking at value, or even moderate, the PSD could very well be a better offer. If you will share where you want to stay, I could look into it a little more for you. Not that you are missing anything, I could just run numbers with my PIN so we could maybe see what April discounts might look like. Also, how many people, kids, etc. would make a difference. Up to you, but I'm willing to research it for you if you want. :)

I was looking at 2 adults, one 10 year old and one 5 year old for CBR! Thanks!

I will price out a 7 night stay in april and in may to get an estimate. Remember though, the general public offer could be different, this will just be for a rough estimate. I'll post back results.

Ok, I ran some different packages, with different options, and I came out about $500 more to do a room only discount than to do the SPD. I don't know if SPD will be offered in April or May, but if you decide to wait, looks like it will be a little more, but nothing outrageous. I ran 7 nights, with 6 day base tickets, and the regular dining plan, and got around 3600. That was for your current week, and for April. (assuming a 20% discount will come out for April) SPD for your week was around 3100.

Another option you have is to book room only for April, that way you can make your ADRs when it's time, and it will also give you a little more time to save the extra money. Then hopefully they'll offer SPD, and you get the best savings, or if it's only a room discount, you can have the extra time to save, and make it a package then.

If that won't work, or you want to be assured of the current discount, you could go ahead and book it, make your plans, and if a discount comes out for April that you want to use, just rebook it. Only issue with that is the ADR problem, but I think you can still work it that way.

If you need any further help, let me know. I'll check back here, or you can PM me. Good luck with everything!! :goodvibes
