Discounts on WDW gift cards?

Just wondering if stores ever have specials/discounts on WDW gift cards (similar to the Sams Club one) during the holiday season. TIA!

Last year before Christmas Winn Dixie had $5 off all $50 gift cards (except American Express, Visa, and phone cards). Not as good as the current $50 off $300 they are having.

Our Publix runs $10 of $50 gas cards quite regularly. This has been most helpful with gas prices being so high.

Not sure of Sam's club discount, but if you have a target credit or debit card you get 5% off of the Disney giftcards that they sell in the store, I believe they carry only 50.00 ones. Also, you can get an additional 5% off for I believe every 5 prescriptions you fill there. I am also an employee so I get my employee discount also. So any person that uses those perks can get a 50.00 gc for about 45.00.

Sams club sells Disney GC for 98.82 or some such crazy amount. THese are 100.00 GC plus you get a bonus 10.00 GC that is only good at local mall disney stores or disneyshopping.com. It's a good deal if your spending the money anyway. I have personally used my 100.00 GC's to pay for my AP(tix), A gallery CD at DL, and my room ressie at WDW.

It's $98.87; I bought 4 at a local Sam's Club yesterday. I paid off my room only ressie with those cards. We arrive on Saturday.

Sadly, no, you cannot use them at Downtown Disney

Have you had this work for you? my husband is an employee at Target and was told that his discount and the discount on the credit card does not work for ANY gift cards. I have been meaning to try it anyway but wanted to see what others results were first.

I am assuming it will work because I have bought Itunes gc's ,Zynga gc for DD, and an Olive Garden gc within the past week and my employee discount and additional 5% came off (I didn't have a pharmacy rewards 5%). Also, when I saw the 50.00 Disney GC I had a cashier put it through like I was buying it and then scanned my discount to see it the employee discount would come off and it did, we voided the transaction, so I didn't swipe to see if the additional 5% came off, that was about a month ago so I assume it is still the same. Our Target is a "test" store for lots of new things to see if new ideas work well with the public, but something like discounts are probably company wide. Sorry, hope that wasn't too confusing

The Sam's Club promotion is not a regular thing, those were just left over from a promotion around Christmas 2010.

Where do you find gift cards at Target, I haven't seen any other than iTunes and the prepaid phone cards?

Our Px has gift cards, but not Disney or even gas cards for that matter.

I'm going to have to watch for the one at Publix, that would save a good bit for our January trip.

Are you sure you can get an employee discount on gift cards? I've never seen a Target in California provide employee discounts on gift cards, primarily because they (the gift cards) are like cash.

The employee discount WILL work for non-target gift cards. For example you can get 10% off a restaurant gift card, but no discount for buying a Target gift card.

A bout a month ago was when I first noticed we sold gift cards (other than iTunes) I bought a $25 movie card. Sure enough, it took off my employee discount AND 5% for using my Target card (14.5% altogether )

But just today I bought a $15 chic fil a card and about $3 of groceries . It deducted the employee discount but did not take ANYTHING off for using the Target card. You would think that it would discount a few cents off the $3 groceries but it did not. So it could have been a fluke. I'll have to try it again soon.

Just so you know, the computer systems are being upgraded at our store and we had to manually take the 5% redcard discount as a coupon all day today, HUGE pain. Maybe your systems are upgrading as well and that is why it didn't come off

FYI- If you're not a member of Sams Club, August 5-7th they are having an open house. Meaning that you can buy their items without being a member. I'm not a member, therfore I don't know if they have the Disney giftcards. But if they did, it sounds like a good deal.
