Discounts on WDW gift cards?

But there is an upcharge that may not make it worth the value

I did a Google search and it's being report that the 10% upcharge will NOT be charged against non-members during the open house. I didn't see anything official from Sam's, but I wondered, too. I am a Sam's Club member and we get good value for our basic membership.

Interesting, I have never seen them have a promotion where you weren't charged the upcharge. We have a membership too, so we don't have to worry about it.

Our Sams has been out of the WDW cards since early this year, so it does me no good anyway.

Just back from Target and I have to say I am super excited, the employee discount AND the credit card discount worked just fine. :cool1::cool1: I got 2 $50 gift cards for $42.75 each!!!:banana:

Thank you so much for this! :thanks: I just saw the Disney Gift Cards in my Target today and came home to research. When I saw this post, I called WDW and checked to see if I could get my trip refunded to my Disney Visa (we already paid in full) and use the gift cards instead. They said YES and put a note in my account for when I call back with the gift cards. I will have to pay with the gift cards, which will result in an overpayment, then ask that the overpayment be applied to my Disney Visa. I should have an extra 5% off from Pharmacy Rewards on the way, so once I get that, I'm using that, the Redcard discount, and team member discount to clean out those Disney gift cards at nearly 20% off! If this all works like it sounds like it should, it will save us $225 off of what we already paid for our trip. And even more, once we go on the trip and pay for some OOP things. Thank you so much!!! This will get us our anniversary dinner at Artist Point that we wanted, but didn't think we could afford to do! :cool1:

Where in Target stores do they display Disney gift cards? I've looked at my local Target store to no avail....I can't seem to find Disney gift cards anywhere. :confused3

TIA!

The Disney Gift cards at Target are back in electronics movies and CD's at our target....at least used to be, they are moving everything around again but they should be back at electronics, a Team Member should be able to show you where they are if you ask. They are usually kept with the Itunes cards.

Have you had this work for you? my husband is an employee at Target and was told that his discount and the discount on the credit card does not work for ANY gift cards. I have been meaning to try it anyway but wanted to see what others results were first.
Thanks :cutie:

I just reloaded my Starbucks card at Target today. I got 5% off my coffee purchase, but not off my gift card purchase when I used my Target card (it was two separate transactions). It would be sweet if we got 5% off gift cards! ETA: But apparently some people ARE getting 5% off gift cards??? I'll have to check that out!

I think that the only gift cards you get the 5% discount is on the pre-loaded cards that you buy. like the $25 iTunes or the $50 disney not reloading the cards.

What kind of discount do you receive when you open a target account? And would that come off of giftcards? Now THAT might make it worthwhile.

Just got back from a shopping trip to Jewel Grocery. They are running a promotion that if you purchase $100 in gift cards you will receive a $10 store card. This offer is only good through Wednesday the 7th. They are owned by Super Value so if there are other subsidiaries throughout the country, this promotion may be at those stores as well. (Albertsons, Acme?) I am stocking up for our trip to WDW as well as our cruise in March.

We don't save on the actual gift card, but I buy my Disney cards at Kroger and then I get .50 cents off each gallon of gas (depending on what type of gas points promotion they are having.)

For anyone who wanted confirmation, I did this on Friday and it all worked out perfectly! Got all the gift cards at a discount and read them over the phone to a very patient CM (24 gift card numbers!) and she put in a request to refund my Disney Visa payment. Then I went out and bought more gift cards to cover our OOP expenses while we're there. I paid $40.61 for each $50 gift card. Target team member discount, Redcard discount, and Pharmacy Rewards discount used. Hope this helps someone!
