Discounts on passes???

Hi all - I just received my membership card in the mail, and have a few questions????

1 - Do we get discounts on passes? If so is it just for hoppers, or can we get length of stay passes too???

2 - Do we get discounts on anything else at WDW?? If so, do we just show our DVC Card???

3 - Do we get discounts at the Disney Store???

There is a complete list of discounts available on the Members WebSite.

There is a 10% discount on UMP (formerly LOS) at check-in. No other discounts- but there is a Magical Years Pass (only for DVC). Check the website for details on that pass- it's not for everyone.

There are discounts available at many restaurants and activites at WDW. Check the website. You'll also receive a current list at check-in. Your room ID will state "DVC Member" when you stay on points- that will get you the discounts.

DVC members get a 10% discount at TDS.

We were under the impression that even the park passes were discounted. Is this something that only OKW and BWV have gotten in the past? I am sure that on our tour the sales rep and made that a reason for buying in. Please correct me if i am wrong.

It is my understanding that you don't receive discounts for the park hopper passes. You must buy the Disney Club Card to receive discounts or purchase the park hopper offered on the home page. I think the cost is $29.95 the first year and $40 per year thereafter. Formerly, this card was issued by employers or credit unions,etc. and discounts were granted. Disney is not overly generous with any discounts. However, if the benefits in the program don't improve it is doubtful we would purchase a second year.

In my humble opinion there should be more discounts for DVC members. I know we purchased an excellent product; however, all of us invested signficant dollars in this program. Enjoy, even with the limited discount program. ( smile

The only DVC discount on passes is 10% for UMP. Yes, it has been available only at OKW and BWV- until VWL came along. Depending on your travel habits, the UMP may be worthwhile- for many, who are able to go to the parks 8 days or more- an AP may be the most economical pass.

The Disney Club is $39.99 the first year and $29.99 for renewal. They are giving the renewal price to people who previously had the free corporate card, you just need your old chapter #. I read over on the budget board that McDonalds Employees are getting them free because they are a corporate sponsor of Disney. Meanwhile, we've each poured thousands into DVC and have to pay for one.
