Hey Everyone!
So I live in LA and I've been a AP holder for 4 years. I live only 40 minutes away from DL (well, okay, maybe 2 hours if traffic's horrible!
) so the last time I've actually stayed in a hotel at Disneyland was years ago - before I moved here.
Anyway, last December I got engaged in Disneyland, and then gave my fiance his own AP for Christmas. Recently my incredibly generous future mother in law gave me a few hundred dollars for my birthday, and I was thinking it might be fun for us to actually stay the night in Disneyland, preferably at the Grand Californian, or the Disneyland Hotel. I know I could find something MUCH cheaper outside the park, but since it's a birthday present, I figured I'd splurge.
What are the best ways of getting those rooms? I checked at Disneyland.com and a standard room at the GC in the middle of the week in October is $345 - more than the "mad money" I've got to spend! Anyone have any suggestions for discounts, etc? Or maybe I'm just crazy to think I could stay in one of those places for $200 or less. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!
Ariel
