Actually in 2002 Disney was begging people to come, the first round of discounts for OP dates became availiable July 22, 2002
But because of the economy is better I didn't go back to 2002

We don't plan on getting an AP since we already have tickets from an old trip but if it ends up being worth it we may get one.
Last year Disney only had the Package deal for general public, (FTP) Annual Passholder room-only rates, and Florida resident room-only code.
You just never know what Disney will do? This is just what they did in the Past.
