Discounts for August

We are planning on spending 3 nights at UO 14-17 Aug. It's looking pretty pricey for those dates atm - is there much of a chance of a discount for those dates?

We are moving to ALK for 2 weeks on 17 August and I know everyone says do Disney first but we did it this way round last time and it worked for us (having a little one I think it's nice to end on the parks he will enjoy more - US/IOA are for the adults and our eldest DS) buuuuut it's $100 less per night if we switch it round and Disney price remains the same. So do I hold out hopes for a discount for our original dates or do the switch?

the parks still have longer hours at the time period when you plan to be there.
you already found out the hotel prices drop when the crowds leave and kids are back in school.

i would do the switch and do the motherland portion of the trip first followed by the darkside resort stay.

if you book now for a room only, you can call and have your rate modified if the room rate drops in the meantime.

check the website to catch any new discounted promos that may come out.

the smsm promo has been released as i saw the discounted rates for my time in october '13.

don't know if the august dates you are looking at for early/mid period is included with those discounts.

I am not sure those dates will drop much..Starting the 18th they do and I got the Stay more Save more rates already booked for then

Thank you for the responses. I may look at changing our booking around slightly then to get a better US deal.
