discounts and POFQ?

Is it true that POFQ tends to get excluded from discounts???

i just got so excited for booking now my friend is telling me it gets excluded from discounts

It is often excluded from general public discounts. I have been able to get it with the military discount though.

I have it booked dec.10-15th with the fall discount that came out. There was no availability in standard but I got garden view.

So, I think it just depends alot on your dates.

I guess I'll wait and see what comes out as far as discounts and see if it's worth moving to another hotel

They will decide to include it with new discounts after looking at bookings. This is why folks often suggested to not book in advance of Free Dining if they wouldn't stay without a discount because if management sees a high booking number then they won't feel the need to include it in the discount. POR has been dropped from the offer when so many booked in advance in anticipation.

Hopefully you will get lucky but if you have to have a discount to stay there, just have a backup plan in case it's excluded.

gotcha, thank you, ok I will wait and see if any discounts become available and compare them to other places, I have my heart set on this hotel but if it means saving a bundle I might have to go with the saving money part

I got a fall discount (Room Only), along with a 15% code from Orbitz, when we booked for 3 nights in the last week in October. i ended up getting a better rate than the AP i was waiting for. (I also opened up a credit card, for another $50 back!) I ended up getting the room for roughly 35% off of rack rate. It was impressive enough savings to cancel out Beach Club reservation for the same time, and have a long weekend later in the year.


Morale of the story: Although POFQ discounts are usually not present, if you are creative, and do a lot of looking, you may be able to find ways to make your trip be more magical, and sting your wallet less...

The only discounts I could ever find for POFQ and POR are room only ones and only some of them. There is a general bounce back offer which you'll find in the room book, although i've only seen it in the books at POFQ (never checked the other resorts). bounce backs are offers to book your next trip before you leave, most are in a hand out form left in your room one day but there is a general one in the hard always in the room book if you read it.

Interesting. We booked Nov 13-20 in POFQ then the fall discounts came out. We switched to POR because there was no discount for POFQ.

We were originally going to book POR but decided to try POFQ because we have never stayed there. I booked room only a couple of days after the fall discount came out.

I have gotten the "late summer/early fall discount" at POFQ the last 2 years. You just have to check the disney webpage daily. When the discounts became available they had the garden view and river view rooms available but no the King bed room. I checked the website daily (multiple times) and about 2 weeks later the King Bed rooms opened up and we got the 20% off.
