Discounted WDW tickets from CAA?

I've been crunching numbers and trying to find the best deal on WDW park tickets. Last year we bought out tickets from Undercover Tourist (using the Mousesavers deal), which was great, but this year the Canadian dollar is not as good and then there's the 2.5% exchange rate added when you use a credit card. I was thinking of maybe buying tickets from CAA to avoid the extra charge from my credit card company.

Does anyone have any experience buying Disney tickets from CAA? Do they offer a discount on tickets if you're a member? (how much?) and how does the exchange rate factor in?... are they a better or worse deal than buying from Disney Directly or Undercover Tourist?

BTW, I'll be buying 7 day hoppers with Water Parks

Hmm...Prices are in US and they are still more then Undercovertourist. Is that just me?

From CAA, with a member discount, an adult 5-Day hopper with waterpark is $388.31US, a $9 savings. Undiscounted, CAA is exactly the same as Disney's prices, to the cent! I imagine that goes for 7 day PH+WP as well, with only a tiny bit more savings (maybe $10 or less)

According to my number crunching, Undercover Tourist (with the Mousesavers discount) is still the very best deal. It turns out to be about $26 CDN off the (adult) gate price for a 7-day hopper with waterparks... even with the exchange rate and 2.5% credit card charge factored in.

So, it looks like I'll be buying our tickets from UT again!

Absolutely! I'm not planning on getting no expiration but thats what they showed on CAA so I just compared it to UCT. Pretty sad that there really is no discount. Oh well atleast we have other resources.

Do you have an ebates account? If so, Orbitz is apparently running their 20% cash back again, according to this thread on the budget board:

If you crunch the numbers, it might work out to be preferable deal to UT.

Note that you would have to set up an ebates.com account for the 20% as the ebates.ca is still showing at 10% cash back.

Maybe try checking your local Disney Store. They have tickets for the same prices as in the states but in Canadian dollars. Might be worth it when the dollars down.

They aren't on the website, you can try Air Transat as well.
Just to compare, we paid for a 7 day MYW ticket $340 per adult tax in.
On the disney site it's $329.09 x 1.14 + 2.5% = 384.54

I saved $44.54 per ticket x 7 people in our party.

Just for a family of 4 the savings is $178.16

Anyone know if the Eaton Centre Disney Store in Toronto sells tickets? (and if so, what options do they have? waterpark?) If they are selling them at par, there could be some great savings!

Maybe give them a call and see. I'll check here to see if they still have them. It was always a hit and miss deal and they didn't have much selection IIRC. I think they were mostly base tickets or 5 day ph ones. It's been about a year since I've actually looked or called to see if they had any.

I just called Sunwing and they advised they send e-tickets via mail within 48-72 hours, not vouchers she assured me.

Happy to have this info, if we can't earn enough airmiles for tickets we will go with Sunwing. Also nice to have this as proof to the BF that spending all this time online Disney immersed is worth it!

I've used CAA for all of my Disney vacation packages and have saved money in comparison with the rack rate on the Disneyworld reservation site. No air flight purchased . . . just the Magic Your Way package. For example, last Fall I purchased a week and half Magic Your Way package at Pop Century and the CAA price was approx $190 less than the Disney online reservation quote. Two months after I booked, Disney announced the Fall discount special with dates corresponding with my reservation. I called my CAA travel agent and she re-booked the package so I could obtain that discount as well. A few years ago, I had a poor stay at Wilderness Lodge (many room problems with no hot water for morning showers, bug bites, loud 4 am truck deliveries under the balcony, etc) and on property didn't receive assistance from their front desk/concierge. I ran into poor staff (at that time), and couldn't get my room changed. It was out of character for the Lodge as its customer service is highly regarded. I spoke with my CAA agent on my return and she suggested I email her all of the details. My CAA agent then forwarded my email to the main AAA/Disney Office and within 3 days I received a call from a Disneyworld customer service ombudsman who apologized for the problems and offered me a $600 credit on my VISA for my difficulties. I definitely would not have received that kind of response if I had vented on tripadvisor rather than working with my travel agent. I recognize that CAA and AAA have a significant booking/financial clout with Disney and their assistance got me that credit. A well worded email probably helped a bit, too. If I had booked on my own through the Disney website, I would not have had the backing of a huge travel corp like AAA and its sister CAA. I would have been out of luck. I have found the services of CAA to be invaluable when booking my Disneyworld vacation packages. This is a great example of how a travel agent, and the power of their travel company, can be incredibly helpful and can make all the difference. Wishing you the best.

Just wanted to update the above incase anyone was reading this. I called Sunwing again to see if prices had changed and see if they have Universal tickets. Turns out that they will only sell you Disney tickets if you book a flight or hotel with them as well. Ugh, I knew the guy who gave me the prices the first time sounded like he didn't know what he was doing. So Sunwing is out for Disney tickets unless you book something else with them.

They do sell Universal tickets though, with no need to book anything else!
1 Day/ Park to Park = $150ea CAD
2 Day/ Park to Park = $180ea CAD
Taxes included and they email them to you so no shipping and handling.

Airtransat says they can't sell me tickets if I'm on site. Has anyone stayed on site, not purchased a flight or hotel from them and bought tickets.
