I am considering purchasing my tickets directly from a broker or travel agent as opposed to buying via DISNEY. . . has anyone had issues with the discount tickets from a broker or travel agent and not being able to link them to the key to the world key card or link them withing My disney Experience?

Just wondering. . . (my travel agent said she has clients that have had issues with this)

I have tickets from Undercover Tourist that I purchased more than a year ago and I had no problems linking them in MDE and making FP+ reservations with them. However, if I go into MDE now, there is nothing to indicate that they are connected to the two people to whom I had linked them. The FP+ reservations for those two people are fine and I can still make changes to them without a problem. I just cannot "see" the tickets in MDE.

Now, if you go over to the Theme Parks forum, you'll see a few threads where people are currently unable to link tickets that they purchased from a third party, such as Undercover Tourist, in MDE. The IT people are telling them that they "see" the tickets on their end and that everything *should* be okay in MDE, but guests are still unable to make FP+ reservations with those tickets. :confused3

Linking your tickets to your KTTW card can still be done at your resort...at least until Magic Plus is fully rolled out.

I also bought tickets from UT and was able to link them to MDE. It shows who it belongs to and the type of ticket. When I click on the more info button it just shows that it has not been used - it does not have the ticket number. I was able to add FP+ with no problems. I added the tickets around 2 months ago so I don't now if anything has changed (as far as initially adding them) since then.

I had one "old" WDW purchased ticket and one newer UT purchased ticket. As part of the fastpass+ testing I tried to get it all linked to the wrist bands thru MDE but had to have IT assist me. After their technical intervention I was then able to link both tickets and book fast passes thru MDE. However, my second day using my wrist band linked to the Undercover Tourist purchased ticket unlinked and I couldn't get into the park using the wrist band (had to pull out my ticket). Then I had to go to guest services and have them try to relink the ticket to my wrist band. They couldn't and ended up having to reissue me a WDW park ticket to replace it and then relinked this one to my wrist band. Kind of a pain since I had taken the time to get it all "fixed" before I even left home! No problems with either wrist band after this fix. Going again in May and am not sure about purchasing UT tickets or trying to link them in advance. :confused3 Any ideas?

I don't have much experience with new system yet...but the one issue- just a heads up - I've had in the past with offsite tickets - was when I tried to upgrade them in the parks. The staff practically accused me of stealing tickets to my face, which was crazy. I bought them through UT, and tried to upgrade them to an AP ten minutes after entering the park for the first time. The short solution...walk away. Come back again later. I've had particularly bad luck at AK and Epcot. (maybe just me, but I had very bad experiences multiple times. )The best place to resolve ticket issues, or modify tickets is MK!!!!!!!!

Two great tips- take a picture of your receipt with your cell phone (or digital camera). That way I had PROOF of purchase WITH me at the parks! In the event you should EVER lose a ticket it also ALWAYS pays to take a digital picture of all your ticket ID numbers (and probably magic band ID's as well.)

I also had a fun experience converting very old tickets to new tickets on a recent trip. (the guy made a mistake. one ticket he entered should have had three days left on it, somehow it only registered as having one day. We had no way to prove there should have been several days left on the ticket.)
