When I called Disney to book my room with the AP rate, I was told that POFQ was unavailable for my dates with the AP but that I should check back in case there was a cancellation. I've read on here that cancellations with a discount code are put back into regular inventory and not made available with the original discount or special offer code.

Anyone know for sure? The CM in reservations suggested checking availability around the 45 day mark by calling as soon as reservations open in the morning- I'll do it if I can snag an AP discounted room at POFQ but I'd rather sleep in if it is going to be fruitless:)

I'd love to know this too. I just called about my pin code and there are no more moderate rooms left. I feel bad to keep calling and checking but I would really like one :goodvibes

I do not know the operational aspects on their end of how they count the inventory or replace it when a booking cancels, but I have (several times) had the situation that AP room was not available, but became available later, which I assumed was either cancellation or reorganizing their inventory for whatever reason. I do not think it was tied to any outside mark of 45 days in advance, etc., and seemed random.

I've always booked AP rooms online - and check often when I'm looking for a particular room.

So, you may want to try, but I don't know there's any way to set odds on it.

I had the same experience.I decided to buy ap about 1 month before our trip ap discounts had already been out for 6 weeks. I checked several times a day until what I wanted was available with the ap discount. The availability seemed to change frequently. Sometimes just changing your res by a day will make the room available. I think a lot of people book room only and cx at last minute. You have up 6 days before to cx a room only without penalty.

I am not sure this is the same type of situation but...i have a standard room booked with a pin for WL. We decided to get there two days earlier than planned. When i called they said there were no standard rooms available with the pin. Standard rooms were available, but not for special rates. Figured there was no way one would open up (trip is 2 weeks away). So we were staying at another resort for those 2 days, and couldnt use pin (free dining btw). I Called a few times and thought the same thing, no way they would open one up. Called yesterday for something else and decided it couldnt hurt to ask. WELL...i asked and one had opened up, i was shocked (and very excited) So....def. Cant hurt to keep trying :-)

Rooms available with codes can be re-released back into that code's inventory or even into the general public/rack rate inventory if occupancy necessitates. If the resort is not fully booked or if the occupancy rate is not deemed high enough, the WDTC/CRO will re-release those previous canceled rooms back into the discounted inventory.

Also, continue checking availability online around the 5-day mark as this is the room-only booking cancellation deadline (for receiving a full refund).

I was able last December to book a previously unavailable room at the CR with an AP discount 3 days prior to check-in. I had booked CSR, but because I was switching and not canceling, there was no penalty and I got the resort I wanted.

Good luck and don't give up!
