Have been watching some summer cruises. Some of the restricted fares for July and August have been removed. Any guesses as to why? Could sales possibly be up? Wondering if they will return.

Probably just freeing up rooms to be charged full price.

Discount fares only show up with a cruise isn't selling well. They can come and go, depending on how many rooms have sold at any given time compared to what the cruise line wants sold at that time.

It's funny you say that, I was looking at the list of CDN resident discounts and the list is VERY small now compared to what they were offering just a week or two ago....

Curious if it is all the ships or just the Wonder/Magic? I am thinking it is increasingly unlikely the Magic and Wonder will have a summer season and maybe DCL doesn't want to encourage people to book them and add to the number of very expensive Europe/Alaska cruises on which it has to offer 125% OBC.

Exactly! I find it hard to believe that bookings have gone up that quickly. So wondering what else could be at play.

The cruises I was watching were on the Dream Fantasy.

I'm on the July 18 Fantasy WC. There are a ton of people in our group page that rescheduled from canceled cruises. The cruise wasn't very full for a while. I haven't looked in the last few weeks to see how many rooms look available.

My guess is that they think there is a strong possibility these cruises will be cancelled, and they are removing discounts that might entice people to book them. If things change and it looks like the cruises will be a go, they will release discounts closer to the sail date.

Ugh, my thinking is the same as Maggie's Mom, which makes me nervous about my rebooked August Fantasy cruise :(

That’s one of the ones I was watching:)

Maybe limiting number of people on the ship? Who knows ! My brain hurts trying to figure out what Disney is thinking 🤣
Hadn't thought of that, but it's strong possibility. When they sail again, they are going to have to space out the MDRs more and limit the people in the theaters, around the pools, in line for the Aquaduck, kids in the kid's clubs, etc.

This is my guess. I've been concerned with all the empty rooms there haven't been some travel industry discounts. I read somewhere there's not a lot of cruise discounts right now, but once they start sailing again we will see some deep discounts.

The European ones are still there. I did see one on the Fantasy four day Aug 31. The Fantasy is a really great rate if anyone is interested

My April cruise was booked with a Vgt. As we waited to get canceled, the Vgt discount was there, but about 2 weeks before we were officially canceled all the discounts went away and the price went to full price. It was not because we were full, because we had people rescheduling constantly so I would guess that since the discounts are disappearing, I would think dcl is getting ready to make another announcement

Disney executives are in constant contact with the Governors office and probably are reacting to the information they are hearing. They will probably know the outcome of cruises restarting or staying shut down before it is announced on the news.
