Discounted rate if arriving at night

Can you get a room for a lower rate if you are arriving at your resort past midnight and/or leaving during the early morning hours?

No- that is not something that will happen at a Disnet Resort.

I really don't think that they will give you a discount. We were going to be arriving late, so I called the resort to let them know. They said it was okay because they actually go ahead and assign your room to you when you make the reservation. That being said, they are "holding" your room for you meaning they couldn't have given it to someone else. But...I guess it won't hurt to ask the Disney reservationist when you call.

I've never heard of anyone getting a discount. That's why many people that fly in from the west coast sometimes just get a really cheap hotel with shuttle service at the airport. That way they can pay less for the first night, save money on a rental car by picking it up in the morning, and get to the resort early enough to get a decent room assigned vs. showing up very late and getting what's still left or the rooms everyone else has already turned down.

About the only thing you get by arriving late is an HCA room!!

We arrived late (after midnight) last September & were given 1 of our 2 requests...waterview, but smoking. I tried to get moved to a non-smoking room about 20 min after we arrived (hey-I tried!!) but when I called (the front desk?) I was told there were no more king bed rooms available for our stay! I was heartbroken as we paid for a king bed! At this point I didn't care if it was a waterview or not.

In the AM, I walked to the front desk & asked polietly if there was any way we could get a non-smoking room, king bed, waterview or not any day during our 10 night stay & the very nice CM checked & said, of course it will be ready after 3pm today!! I was very happy.

So my advice...if you want to stay onsite the first night (extra DDP credits) and you don't get your ideal room that night, ask in the AM, chances are someone with your ideal room is leaving that day!!
