Hoping to put an offer in soon! If we vacation in April (not using DVC this trip) and plan to book soon as nonmembers, do you think we'll get a discount or reimbursement once we are members?

You have to book through member services (a DVC villa to get a discount) and you can't do that without being a member. If you get points in time and their is any availability you can see about changing out your room for a villa and use your points for it.

There is no DVC member discount on non-DVC rooms. There is a member discount for DVC rooms, 25% off. As rlovew said, you would have to book it through member services and it is subject to availability.

No. The Resorts side doesn't care that you bought DVC (or they may care in the opposite way, but definitely wouldn't be rewarding you with a discount or refund). They are two different companies.

In the beginning of the DVC if you bought a DVC interest while staying on a cash reservation, they would issue you a credit as an enticement to buy while on site.

That perk went away long ago, they don't need to offer it now that sales are in the millions of dollars per year.
