Discount Tickets -- Scam? or Safe?

I did a very, very impromptu thing today. I booked hotel and plane tickets (yay miles!) to take my 10 yr old to Disneyland for the first time next week!! I haven't been to the land since before Fastpasses were a thing -- maybe 20 yrs ago. Anyway, I've been researching online and have run into a few websites offering discount tickets. Who to trust? One also allowed you to book pre-paid character dining around $60 total for all. I'm a little bit nervous and obviously don't want to blow my budget, not to mention waste time, by booking scam tickets. I didn't even know there were discounts available for non-CA residents or non-military. Any words of advice?? Thanks in advance!

The safest way to buy tickets is to use reputable sources recommended here, e.g. Disneyland's online site, aRes Travel, Getaway Today Travel, etc. Check the website MouseSavers.com to find more legit sources for discount tickets and deals. Remember, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't legit. If you're really unsure about something, you can always check back here before purchasing.

Thanks so much. I am going to have to look at those sites. My big worry is getting the tickets in time! I am having one HECK of a time getting the official Disney site to load. I've tried 2 different computers and 3 different browsers with absolutely no difference in performance. I may have to go with another vendor just to get the tickets!!

Keep in mind that Disney doesn't give deep discounts to anyone. So if a person or site has them far cheaper than anyplace else, it's almost guaranteed to be a scam.

In the end I opted for the Disney site (despite the fact it has not been loading well recently). Ares and Parksavers were definitely a bit cheaper; however, I didn't want to deal with the box office as it appears you need to go there to redeem the tickets. I'd rather just go to the gate. We get in Monday at 10 am and I want to just hop in some sort of transportation and arrive at the park. I really don't want to deal with anything. LOL

I don't blame you. It's pure misery standing in one of those lines while you watch people enter the park to start their day.
