Discount room - Add package later?

Does any one know if I can book a discounted room today with the spring rate and then add tickets and Dining later, still keeping the discounted rate on the room?

You should be able to do that.

Tickets and dining can be added later to make it a package, however, when you do this, the room only ressie will have to be cancelled/refunded and a package booked, requiring a new $200 deposit as money paid on a room only reservation cannot be transferred to a package (same goes for changing from a package to room only). Also, if this change is made within 45 days of arrival, the package will have to paid in full instead of just a $200 deposit.

So.. it we do this, then it seems we would loose the room discount that is going on right now and book at the rack rate or what ever the current package discount that might be offered.

The CM should be able to retain the discount on the room portion of your package. If not, Guest Relations can generally do it. However, there is always the risk that you will lose the discount; there are no guarantees.

It is advisable to book the deal you want.

You shouldn't lose your discount. A regular reservation CM probably won't be able to make this change since the promo will be expired, so they will either put you on hold and talk to Guest Services or they will transfer you to a GS agent . Somehow Guest Services is able to do this without losing the discount .

I am going to do the same thing. Yes, you can do this and keep your discount. No, you will not lose your deposit, it will though need to be rebooked and your original deposit will go back to the original form.
