Discount Reservation Question

I see that discounts for May might not become available until Jan 2014. Can you book a room today through Disney and then use the discount later on? Or do you book today and when the discounts become available, cancel your old reservation and make a new one with the discount?

How does the Stay/Play/Dine work? Do you have to be a member of a group or does this become available through Disney themselves?

You can book and apply a discount later if it comes out and your reservation is eligible. Disclaimer: Having a room booked at rack rate does not mean you'll automatically be able to apply a discount later. Availability changes when a discount is being added.

S/P/D is a dining/ticket discount. If Disney releases it your reservation simply has to qualify and there needs to be availability, but you don't need to be part of any special groups. It is a package discount so a room only reservation would not be able to apply this.

If you do book now at rack rates, and are fortunate enough to be able to apply a discount later on...does your reservation number remain the same? Obviously, this is important for ADRs you have made.

Yes it does as long as you aren't changing from a RO to a package.
