Discount questions?

I'm brand spanking new here, so forgive my ignorance please
We have booked our very first trip for POR the last week of August into the first week of September (week before labor day) for $119 a night with AAA discount. Through my brief but very vast search through your fantastic board, I have come to find out that there may be a discount offered through codes? or pins? and I can call a cm? and tell them to apply this code. Kinda confusing, because how do I get the codes? The newspaper or a postcard? Do they apply to my current reservation or do I cancel that one and make a new one. Can I upgrade to a deluxe? (we would love love love the WL if we could get it for $130 or so ) Do I tell the cm that we have a current reservation or does that obsolve them from giving me a better deal? I can't figure out how that would work? Why would they tell me about a discount if I already have a reservation? Sorry for all the questions, but you guys are like never ending source of information! thanks soooooo much for your help.

There is a chance that a code discount could become available, but as of right now the codes only run through April 16th. So keep your eyes on the DIS and also www.mousesavers.com, if a code becomes available you just call CRO, tell them your reservation #, and ask if you can apply the code to your current reservation. If it isn't available at your current resort you can check availability at other resorts with that same code. Once you have the code (it's usually a set of 3 letters) the CM will be able to help you.

As far as postcards and PINS you would get those through the mail or through email. Some people have called CRO and asked if they have one in the system (which would mean they attempted to send it to you but it got lost) but the chances of that are slim I'd say. You could always call and check, but don't get your hopes up for that.

Your AAA rate isn't too bad. At least you've got some type of discount. If you have more questions ask away!!!
