Discount postcards for resorts?

I know I have seen it before but does anyone know how you become eligible to recieve a postcard for a discounted rate in the mail?

It is a mystery. As far as I know, nobody really knows how you can purposely get on the right mailing list to receive resort discount postcards. It just happens "magically". I am registered with Disney (under a few different variations of my name) at several places because of e-mail accounts, previous WDW trips, ordering of trip planning/vacation club DVD's, etc. I've received a postcard or two over the years. One was actually sent to my mom's house. One for my sister was sent to my house. In order to use it, the person to whom the postcard is addressed must be going on the trip.

Anybody else have any ideas?

I was just wondering the same thing! If we can get a good enough deal, I would like to stay at AKL in Dec for our very first WDW trip!

I always get the survey postcards after a visit, but none of the discount postcards.

I think we go too often, someone at on the phone at CRO almost said as much to me last week when I called for the AP rates in June.

Our last trip was int 1998 at CBR, since then we have received about one postcard a year for the deluxe resorts. Of course now that we want to go back, I haven't gotten one. I ordered the planning guide a few months back and shortly there after got a postcard with low rates for the values, unfortunately, not for out travel dates, though.
I would make sure you register with every disney site you can and order the planning guide. Even if you don't want to stay at a value, I understand that people have applied these postcards to deluxe resorts also.
