Discount Pin Code & Dining Plan?

If you use a discount code for a room (a pin that was received in email) can you add the dining plan (not free - I want to PAY for the dining plan)?

I called Disney and they said no - that you can only get the dining plan if you pay full price for the room, or use AAA.

Then I called again and the CM told me that I would have to upgrade to a package and then I would lose my discount.

Then I read somewhere that you can get the dining plan if you buy at least one days tickets. So now I am really confused.

We are using a 30% off pin code we got in email. And I want to add the dining plan on. Can I? Should I keep calling Disney for the answer or does anyone here know the REAL answer?

I was under the impression that you couldn't get the dining plan is you use a discount code but if you're a AAA member that you could book a "Disney Vacation Package with Dining" and get a AAA discount on the package rate. Hope that helps. That what we did last December.

I have the 40% off room rate for December. Disney told me I could add dining if I bought at least one ticket per person in our room.

You can get the dining plan and pay for it. You can not use a 30% code and get free dining. You can't stack discounts.

Late last year, we booked our 2/08 trip which included PH tickets and DxDP. A few months later, a public code came up to upgrade your ticket to include WP and more. Not only did we receive the upgrade on our 10 day non-exp tickets, we also saved $400 (which was 10% of our total bill) on our package. We had originally purchased our room at rack rates. I know the discount was on our rooms but I didn't care what on our package was discounted...as long as our total was $400 cheaper!

My parents had their own package booked and they let me apply the code to their package as well...they saved $200. The fairy dust was sprinkled on us that day!

Call back and talk to someone else. Most pin codes have room only, room plus ticket, and room plus ticket and dining equivalents, as well as AAA equivalents

You should be able to. Last week I got an email with a code for $59/night at the Values. I was able to book CBR for $99/night and make it into a package with dining. This is for Aug. 16-23 and I paid for the dining since this is the week before free dining starts. Good luck!

You should be able to. For our December 07 trip, we had a 40% off room code and we bought a package with tickets and dining (but saved on the room portion of the package.)

Some pin codes can and some can't.

The long number code that came on my post card linked to a set of 3 letter codes. The 3 letter codes are the ones that tell the computer what discount to give you

So my post card said Pin# 1234567891011 **
and when the CM entered it she got back this set:
abc=40% room only **
def=40% package **

I used code "def" and I was able to get my room at 40% off and I bought the package with tickets and dining.

IF the computer had come back with only "abc=40% room only" that would mean I could not get the tickets and dinig plan as part of that same reservation.

My pin happened to link to both the room only and the package offers. Not all pins link to the same codes.

So, Yes, a pin can be used on a package with dining....sometimes.

I called back today and got the same pin code. It was for room only for $114 value and $190.12 moderate. Dates are 5/26 - 8/2. Can't combine it with any other tickets packages. The rep asked me if I was sure that I hadn't been to Disney more than 5 times and I told her that I knew I had been a few times when I was a child and 3 times as an adult. So she said, looks like you've been about 6 or 7 times then. Do you get a better discount the more often you go? She said she was changing it in the computer.

It all depends on what packages are out there, the room availability, etc.
