I'm SOOOOO excited! We did it! We finally booked our first DCL cruise!
So now my question is, what kind of discount are we looking at when, and if, we rebook? I keep seeing people mentioning it, but wonder what the savings are. Are they significant?
The last time we sailed, the discount for a 7 day rebooking was 10% off the current rate of your cruise plus a $200 onboard credit (per stateroom).
You will want to be aware--if you know what you want, take a computer print out or ad showing the rate you found on the internet. I had Donna once quote me a rate several hundred dollars higher that what I'd seen on the net. I did re-book on board, but when I got home, the cheaper rate was still on the net--I called DCL the first day (Monday) and they gave me the lower rate less 10%. However, I've heard that this isn't standard policy.
When you re-book while on board, they will ask you if you want them to credit the same travel agent who did your original booking. I usually say no to that, but when I get the written confirmation and am sure it is correct, I transfer it to my agent (who then gives me a further discount!)
