Hello all!

We have a trip planned to world in May. I remember before you leave there is usually an offer for a discount if you book your next trip before you leave. We have never taken advantage of this because if I remember your next trip has to be within a certain time frame from you current stay, and we have never planned trips that close together. We are thinking about doing a Christmas trip this year. I was thinking if we plan it right we might be able to take advantage of this discount. Do they still do this? How much is it usually for? Trying to budget and see if it is indeed possible. We have never done a trip over Christmas, we always travel at cheaper, less crowded times of years. So feel free to offer any other suggestions for saving this time f year too!

Yes, I believe you are asking about Bounceback Offers, that must be booked before you leave. Sometimes they are on a flyer or packet in your room, but if not you can dial 8844 from your room to get the info. I don't know that you will find one for Christmas though, because that timing is rarely discounted as they know it is always packed. It is the most expensive time to go. There could be dates for earlier in Dec. which is actually less crowded, but you can still enjoy all the decor and activities, if your schedule allows. We love to go for Thanksgiving and have gone the week before to see everything with less crowds - it is our favorite time of yr to visit now!

As it gets closer, you can watch for what bounceback offers are out for your trip time - they change throughout the yr. If something looks good, book it, and you can always change your mind later. Other offers will be announced for that time in the summer, so then you can compare. The last few yrs there has been FD offered if you checked in by 20th-21st, and then would have it for the holiday week. Here is a link to the thread that has the current offer listed - it is a room only discount - check post midway down the page: http://www.disboards.com/threads/bounce-back-2017.3491542/page-6

Op just so you know Christmas is usually a blackout period for discounts.

Like others pointed out, Christmas is always blacked out for discounts. Sometimes, there are package discounts that end just prior to Christmas week. If you can check in on the last day of that package deal, you will get the deal for the length of the visit. But IIRC, the last day for *free* dining was Dec 23 in 2016.

If staying onsite is important to you, try looking into renting a DVC studio during that period. It's the most expensive DVC time of the year, but can still be more affordable than a non-discounted resort room. However, you would have to act on it quickly. DVC members who are hoping to stay during the Christmas week have been able to book a stay at their home resort for a week now and some studios show only partial availability for that time period.
