Discount for AP Upgrade?

We're current standard AP holders. We bought before we joined DVC. I know you can always upgrade to a Premium or Premier Passport. This might be moot because we may be doing DLR AFTER our current APS expire.. BUT if you have an existing non-discounted regular AP, can you upgrade it to Premium or Premier and get the $100 off at that point?

There are no discounts on the Premier Passport, DVC or otherwise.

If you upgrade your standard WDW AP to a Premium, yes, you would get the DVC price as long as you show your member card and a photo ID. Don't forget that the expiration date will be that of your original pass, not the date you upgrade.

For example, your standard AP expires 4/30/12, and you upgrade it to a Premium pass on 3/1/12. Your Premium pass will expire 4/30/12.

So i guess we could technically get the $100 off the Premier if we upgraded to premium first?

When we go back later this year, I might upgrade to Premium anyway. The DVC discount would eat much of the upgrade cost.

No. Only the price paid (discounted or not) for the premium would be applied towards the full price of the Premier.

AHHH. I get it now. Bummer!

I thought it would be like upgrading UT tickets where you get the full price toward the AP.

ETA: I'm going to upgrade our APs in the fall. It won't cost much with the DVC discount and I'll feel like I didn't miss out on the discount this year. I know, I'm weird
