Discount Disney Shopping

We should I go to get Disney merchandise at a discount? I don't mind driving. I have four children and am not afraid to dig through piles. Thanks for any information.

Orlando Premium Outlets on Vineland between I-Drive and I-4 (exit 68 on I-4) had the Character Premiere store. There is an excellent food court if you find yourself here at lunch time. If you head up Interstate 4, you'll find a cluster of outlet and retail stores, including Belz and Pointe Orlando, which has Disney Worldport.

note that below the maps on this page is a directory of stores. i can't remember which store has the disney stuff. it is either 109-110 Character Warehouse or 47 Character Premiere. Also note that there is a Universal outlet in that mall. (5 Universal Studios Outlet)

i also found that many of the stores have "sidewalk" sale tents up in the parking lot. i found Dinsey fleece sweatshirts there of nice quality for cheap. Note that some or most of the stuff in this area that is Disney is not necesarity WDW merchandise, but the standard Disney stuff you could buy in Kmart or Wal-Mart. Still very nice though.

I, personally, didn't find the outlet stores worth the time it took to drive out to them. Some of the merchandise was the same price as on property. Most of the merchandise was dated or from past events. They had the year "2003" on them or they were from the marathon (we went in Feb and the marathon was in Jan).

If you're desperate to save a few bucks, are ok with burning the time, and don't mind dated merchandise, then the outlets are for you.

As for me, I won't burn valuable park time traveling to the outlets again.
