I see a lot of you posting about discount codes and free dining etc. I am planning our second trip and wonder how I could save a bit and maybe upgrade our trip at the same time. My dd's school is going on a trip that she can't participate in for medical reasons. I promised her we would go to Disney instead. My dh's income has been really affected by the economy since then. I am detemined to keep my promise but am concerned about the cost. Last year I saved all year for the trip. This year we won't have any savings. I would like to stay on the grounds this time and eat something besides Taco Bell. Any info about the discount codes and dining codes would be appreciated.

You can go to disney's website and register your address and emails. The discounts and codes people are usually talking about are pins that they rec'd from signing up there. There is no guarentee that you will get one though....I have yet to get one.

Another thing you can do is on here go to codes and discount thread...I believe its under disney resorts. And subscribe to the thread of the month you are wanting to go that says code watch for example if you are thinking of going in Sept. sign up for Sept 09 Code Watch thread.

Another thing is the 4/3 deal (buy 4 nights get 3 free) that is going on right now You have until 1/24 to purchase and I think it's good till the end of April. Also if you travel b4 the end of march, I think, you get an additional $200 disney gift card.

I know in the past Sept. There was free dining that I believe was open to the public but we don't know if and when they will announce this.

Free dining is a promo that disney tends to offer annually since I think 2005.It should probably be announced in April.The discount pincodes are a totally random thing, some people get them others do not( I have never ever gotten one in 21 trips) .To increase your chances go to disneyworld.com, order the vacation Dvd and register on the website.You may also want to look into if you are a AAA member.Jan is AAA's magical month of disney, and they do offer some pretty good discounts on disney pkgs.

Another place to check for deals is Mousesavers.com. Good luck trying to get a pin code, I have been registered with Disney for years and have yet to recieve one.

I am with you on that one! I am trying to figure out how people that got them last year and went to WDW got them again this year...I must be doing something wrong

Another place to find out about the codes and discounts.. is the "Codes and Rates" board here on the DIS Resorts Board.
