discount codes for car rental??

My friend is flying into Ft. Lauderdale for the weekend Oct.8th-Oct.10th. Does anyone know which car rental agencies are located at the airport?? Also, does anyone have a discount code??? I appreciate any help Ellen

Avis, Budget, Dollar, and National are located in the airport, the others list have counters onsite but you need to take a shuttle to the cars.

We used Dollar at Ft. Lauderdale for our trip this past March because it was cheaper than Avis (who we usually use) and all I can say is to AVOID Dollar at all costs. First, there was no one at the rental counter at the airport. And there was no sign or instructions about how we could get our car. We ended up asking the woman at the Avis counter and she told us that we had to take the Dollar shuttle to their off-site office. I have no idea why Dollar is advertised as being on-site at the Airport if they make you take a shuttle to get your car... When we arrived there was a line out the door and some of the least helpful employees in the world. They were WAY understaffed and the employees they did have working moved slower than paint drying. It took 2 hours to get our car. It was really a miserable experience. Maybe we have been lucky, but we have never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be helped with Avis... next time we will spend the extra money and go with Avis.

I looked at the ratings in the Unofficial Guide and of the rental car agencies with counters in the terminal, National and Avis were ranked the best. I then did expedia and orbitz searches to get a price range. Avis was much lower than National. I got an internet price from Avis. I went to mousesavers and copied down 5 rate codes for Avis and typed them into the reservation form on the Avis web site. The first 3 codes came up identical to the internet rate, but the next 2 came up $25 less. So the codes on mousesavers do work! (I got a standard sized car for 10 days for $217 before tax.)

We always use Dollar and have never experienced a problem with them. Does anyone know if they are no longer onsite?
