We are wondering where we might find discount codes listed. we are making plans for 2010. we asked when we made our reservation and the cast member said none were listed. we are wondering how much the normal discounts are.

The discount PINs are sent via e-mail or postcard, and are specific to a person's or family's name. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of logic on who gets them or why. And in this economy, there is no such thing as a "normal" discount. We've seen things like "Kids stay, play & eat free", "Buy 5 get 2 free with a $500 gift card", "Buy 5 get 2 free without the $500 gift card", "40% off", "Everyone pays kids' price", etc.

Just keep watching these boards and you'll get information on everything coming out, including any public codes that anyone can use.

To start getting codes you will need to register your address at www.disneyworld.com. You will need to create a profile and then you need to ensure that your e-mail filter doesn't flag Disney Destinations (the place where PIN's / Codes primarily come from) as spam.

You may also request a Disney video and you may receive a code in the video or in a separate mailing from Disney Destinations. The codes are random and there is no rhyme or reason as to how they are sent; at least none of us outside of Disney marketing would know that anyway-anyone trying to state reasons as fact are really only stating opinion.

With the downturn in the economy I'd say that this is the most discounts I've seen in quite a long time. Since last year the discounts have been getting better and are being issued in greater volume possibly. I believe they even had a free dining offer AND room discount combined not too long ago which has basically been unheard of in previous years in regards to combined offers, which Disney rarely ever does.

I myself got the recent 40% off PIN code myself. I've only received 1, possibly 2 codes during the past 14 years that I've been going to Disney. A good place to find discounts would be Mousesavers or by viewing the offers available at the Disney World website at the top of this message.

Best of luck in getting a code.:wizard:

There aren't any discount codes available for 2010 yet. WDW hasn't released the regular rates for 2010 yet, and they probably won't until August. After that time, be watching here for the public discount codes. And make sure to register your email address and request the vacation planning DVD as the PP mentioned.

Also, keep in mind that if you book directly through Disney and ask the cast member: "Are there any discounts?" they are supposed to tell you no. Even if there are general public codes available. You (the guest) are required to know about the discount and ask specifically for it. For example, if you are calling to book a room during the free dining plan promotion, you need to ask for it. Sometimes, the CM will ask you for the associated 3 letter code. Last night I called Disney to change my room only AP discount room for late July to a passholder + dine package. I obviously wanted to keep the room discount, and I had to dig up the code for her before she could quote the package price for me. Luckly I found it on wdwinfo. :thumbsup2

As a PP suggested, watch this forum for general public offers, and jot down the associated 3 letter code for whatever discount you want to use. (room only, package, free dining, etc) The CM's will not volunteer this for you, unfortunately.
