Being the budget thread, I was wondering if anyone has a discount code for the Lines app? I think it's $9 but thought I saw on AllEars newsletter that it is $2 off or maybe even half-price with a special code.

At the time I didn't pay attention since I thought I was going to order Mobile Magic. But now I found out MM doesn't work on my Droid phone.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

The Lines app is actually free, but to use it with all its features you need a yearly subscription to TouringPlans.com. You can get a discount on that with the purchase of the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World and I think you are right that AllEars often has a discount for purchase of TP subscription.

I don't get the AllEars newsletter though, so I don't have it.

Yeah, I'd like to use it for all the features. I saw a discount code a while back but of course deleted it since I didn't think I needed it.

Hopefully someone else has the code. :goodvibes

If somebody could help me out with the code, I would appreciate it. I also thought I had MM on my Droid to find out that I don't.

What app are you going to use now? And how much is it?

Thanks.

I'm looking into getting a membership to Unofficial Guide for $10.95? or something cheap like that. I'll PM you the 30% code. The membership is good for 1 year and gives you full access to the web (crowd calendar, planning and what I'm most interested in, the Lines application, showing wait times for rides based on statistical models and guest input.

I'd prefer MM which is based on Disney's actual ride system times, but from what I heard, they each have their advantages. Lines can make immediate updates from user input (ride is down, etc), where MM only updates as their computers are updated and not necessary when a ride is down.

Did you ever get your touringplans.com membership? How do you like it?
Did your discount code work?
I'm looking for one now too - wondering if there will be one in tonights Allears newsletter?
If not, did the code you use expire?
TIA:flower3:

Yep, I purchased the Lines app for my phone and we used it quite a lot in Disney. I will say that the app is NOT perfect ... as far as times go but it does give it a good estimate (which is all that it ever promises to do). I think crowds were a LOT more than what they expected so the FPs went quicker than estimated and lines all seemed to be longer than estimated, too.

However, I have the Droid Incredible and experienced problems with the app, so had to access it from the web page. Not an issue since it has the same info.

I did report it and the programmer said he'd work to get the fixes for Incredible but I should use the website meanwhile.

I don't know if the code still works or not, I can PM it to you, if you still need it. Let me know.

Thanks for sharing your experience!
There was another discount code in yesterdays newsletter, so I got my subscription last night. I've been playing with it all day and look forward to using it in the Parks!

Oh, good! I haven't read my allears yet ... I admit I still looked at the lines app this morning to see what the times were ... oh, I wish I was still there!!!

I'd appreciate if you could PM me the discount code, I don't have the AllEars email anymore either!

Thanks!! :thumbsup2
