i went to purchase an i pod for my dd and the salesman informed me that apple will launch a new i pod jan 14 and it willl hit stores late feb beg april. it is rumored to have a digital camera so my dd12 is willing to wait till then

Apple sues people for publishing any future release info. Aggresivly. Whoever told you that is just repeating a rummor. Apple does not announce upcoming releases beforehand. It could be true but I doubt it.

The education discount is pretty slim on iPods.

Yes. Apple does not release info of new products before hand. It is all rumors. There are only a select few in the company that know. I used to work for them, I know.

I would almost bet, that there will never be any codes for Apple products. There is no need for them. Apple will very rarely have sales but they have been known to happen. Usually tops off at 10% and like I said, this is really rare, and will probably only happen in-store. Your best bet is an educational discount, or to buy an older model which is discounted.

It stinks but thats the way it is. Regardless of discounts you will still love your Apple !
