We are staying off-site mid July for 2 weeks and need a minivan. I have been endlessly trying to get the best rate and by far the best is this "67" code and than a coupon code at National. There is a lot of discussion about the use of these codes on the Transportation board and alot of people have used them with absolutely no problem. But I was wondering if anybody from Canada had used them successfully.

Anyone? Anyone?

Onsite we normally we use enterprise and have always gotten a good rate and service but their hours are limited. In April we would have had to rent for at least one extra day due to their hours.
Instead we used the Alamo code we found on the mousesaver webpage without any difficulty. I am not certain what we paid but I think it was under $20 for the day. No issues at all. We used the Alamo in the Buena Vista Palace near Downtown Disney. They are right across from the first DTD bus stop. I believe the rate did not work for same day rentals, you needed to book at least one day ahead.

Have you tried Hotwire?? I haven't tried for Florida, but I saved about $500 for a 10 day rental in Western Canada! :thumbsup2

We have been using codes for as long as we have been travelling down to WDW.They can be used by Canadians .
With National,Alamo and Dollar.
Go to Mousesavers and look for the various codes on offer. Its worth it and can save you a bundle !
Minivans tend to be a bit pricey . The best I could see (with Alamo) is about $925 plus taxes (without codes)

Using teh Id #8572967 and coupon ND2119071Q I am getting a minivan for weeks July 10-24 for $337.61 taxes in US$. Compared to what else I am finding this is a fantastic deal but like I siad I ahve not seen any feedback from any Canadians using this code...only those from US.

Aas far as I know there is no distinction between Americans and Canadians when using codes. I've used Amex codes,Mastercard codes,Walmart codes,Carlson codes...the list goes on and on.The bottom line is I dont think they really care that we are Canadian :confused3 .
Another way to confirm this is to fillout the online booking with your Candian address and you'll see that its accepts it just fine.
Oh,and by the way...if you can get a van for that price...take it ..right away !
Remember,in the event of finding a better price you can cancel as many times as you want at no cost.

Check both Alamo.ca and Alamo.com as there are price differences.

Keep up the good work people! I need a vehicle in december and am code hunting.

Has anyone used any of the car rental codes IN Canada, for domestic rentals?

Thanks for any help you can give!!

What's the ID code for? Who or what are you supposed to belong to use that code?

From what I've read the coupon is an oline coupon and the 67 id is for travel solutions....but from the general consesus of everything I've read they never ask or question about it. For the price I'm willing to take the chance. I think I will book another though as a back up. There is a lot of info on these codes on teh transportation board under the Better than Disney visa magic post.

Ok, I've read that thread or most of it. I've used that code and it results in an amazing rental fee. However, I am concerned about the insurance issue... That alone may cause me to cancel it and go back to my original reservation. <sigh> Insurance confuses me and this more so than usual.

Call your auto insurance company and ask if you are covered for rental car insurance under your current policy. When I called mine, I was told we were 100% covered in North America and no need to ever take the insurance that is offered by car rental companies and to either take a copy of our policy or get a letter from your insurance co stating that. Some car rental co's can be VERY pushy about HAVING to take their insurance.

I do that anyway....HOWEVER, this contract ID includes all of the insurance that they usually pressure you into buying. The concern on that other thread is whether or not your auto insurance will still cover it since you didn't waive the rental company's insurance....or whether your gold/plantinum card insurance will cover it....

I'm too much of a scaredy cat to risk it. LOL I cancelled and continue to look for cheaper rates that I can prove I am eligible for.... JUST in case. I can always rebook at the cheaper rate if I gain some backbone. LOL

I'm going to call and ask my insurance about that tomorrow.

I've mentioned this before, but I booked a car for a week just last week and I booked it through Southwest.com. My flight was not a Southwest flight (it doesn't matter what airline you're using). The rate was much better than using any codes I could find. Then I used my airmiles to get an Alamo gift card for $100 and called Alamo to apply it. My $300 rental ended up being $42 after the gift card - no problems whatsoever.

I just called my insurance co about this....she said that all it means is that I am "doubly" covered. So I think it is fine....if the 67 code wouldn't cover it than my insurance would.

I also called National direct and made my reservation on the phone. A minivan for 14 days for $331.00 US$. The guy I was speaking with asked if I had any coupons or codes to use and I said I had an ecoupon and a contract number given to me by a friend in the travel industry! He confirmed that the 67 code was a complimentary code from Travel Solutions. I am also an Emerald Club member (got free membership thru my CC...but mousesavers also has a link for free membership) so I gave him that number and he said that I do not even have to go to the counter, just straight to the lot and my paperwork will be waiting there with my vehicle. Upon leaving the lot, I will need my Emerald Club card and CC....that's it. I asked if I needed a copy of documents for the coupon and contract ID and he said no.

So I am booked with a confirmation # and I feel fine with it.

Thank you, 2meezers, for sharing the coupon code and contract ID. I had booked a rental mid-sized car for $410 for an 11-day rental in California through Hertz.

By using the codes you gave, I now have a minivan rental from National for $320. We saved $90!!!

What a wonderful thread you started! It certainly helped us -- thanks again so much!
