Disciplining someone else's child WWYD?

Good job! I like how you handle the situation. You were fair but stern. If my children act up with someone else I would expect them to be told to behave and would appreciate it if it came across as you did.

I had a little girl over a couple years back for a play date. She was horrible. my DS was napping and she kept running up the stairs and screaming his name. I asked her several times to stop and then gave her a time out. When her mother came I told her exactly what happened. She looked at me and said she did not expect her daughter to be disciplined in someone else's home and did not forsee another playdate in my home!

Since then she (and her DD) have been very snotty when they've seen us in public. We have not had any playdates and I'm happy as can be! The mom has made rude comments anyway and so has the DD. Once I dropped my DD off at reading camp early and was heading home to change for work. The girl looked at me and said "OMG, you are NOT going to work looking like that are you?" the girl was in first grade!
