Can you/should you wear those plastic water shoes? I forget what they're called.
Can you wear something like a rash shirt that's good to wear in pools?

Water shoes are allowed at DC. They are also allowed at Aquatica, except on some slides.

We wear water shoes when visiting in the summer months, because the pavement can get blisteringly hot.

You are also allowed to wear a rash guard or t-shirt in the pools and on the slides, as long as they don't have any metal embellishments .

Ihu's Breakaway Falls for sure (DH wore them all the way up those stairs last August, and they made him go back down and take them off). The others....I'm not entirely certain. I'm more of a Roa's Rapids and Loggerhead Lane girl myself . I will ask my guys tonight, though, and let you know.

Rashguards are permitted on all of the rides except Ihu’s Breakaway Falls® and Dolphin Plunge®. Both are body slides and shirts can impede your ability to slide on those two rides.

My son and hubby were allowed to wear their rashguards (swim suit material) last week....on Ihu's Breakaway falls. They both wore the rash guards on Dolphin Plunge and Ihu's last September as well. They did not try Dolphin plunge last week. I had to hold my water shoes on the dolphin plunge...can't wear them when sliding.

I saw one family turned away from Dolphin Plunge when the teen was wearing athletic slick shorts instead of swim trunks. The lifeguard said the shorts were fine for all slides except Ihu's and Dolphin Plunge.

Well, for me, I remember wearing my rashguard last year on Ihu's, but it is a looooong way up for me to have to walk all the way down, so I might reconsider for September. Reading between the lines, it is a matter of which lifeguard is at the top, which is my #1 biggest complaint of ANY waterpark, and I have been to many. Same rules, all the time, everyone! Ugh...

Just got back from a week of Discovery Cove, Sea World and Aquatica and had a BLAST! I highly recommend either water shoes/aqua socks for both places. You end up doing a fair amount of walking and the ground can get scorching hot! I wore Crocs flip flops and the rest of my family wore aqua socks. At Aquatica there are "sneaker keepers" (their name, not mine) located at the beginning of each ride/attractions's line, so for the rides that don't allow shoes you can drop them off and pick them up when you finish the ride. At Discovery Cove I just left my Crocs anywhere out of the way getting in the water and they were there when I got out.

As for rash guards, my entire family wore them at both Discovery Cove and Aquatica and didn't have any issues anywhere about them and we went on all the rides at Aquatica. There were signs posted that some rides (can't remember which ones) don't allow regular t-shirts.
