This is my first attempt at posting pictures, so I hope I have followed the instructions properly. This is the MK outfit for my DD4
These outfits are adorable!!! Nice job!
I was in Wal-Mart a little while ago picking up some fabric to make DD a Valentine's dress and I asked the lady about the book panels. She said that they had just put them on sale, and they were already sold out. I told her about making a skirt with them. She pulled a panel from under her table and told me that she would put a good price on it for me. She had cut off the instructions, but since I was going to be using it for a skirt she said that it shouldn't matter. So I got this panel:
And I only paid a penny for it. It has little children's prayers on it. It is a cream color and I found some lace that matched it. I have a pink t-shirt to go with it.
Ok, now you are just showing off!!!!
I tell you what though, if you find anymore of these penny deals, I will give you a whole QUARTER for it!!! That's quite a profit, don't you think!
Love the new pattern, I'm adding that to my wish list! DD10's name starts with a J and she wants that shirt! (but a little larger

) I guess you've realized by now that the stripwork jumper and portrait peasant dress patterns are very popular around here! They are my 2 favorite patterns! I'm dying to try raglan t's but I'm askeered. I haven't sewn with knits before.
Here are my 2 favorite patterns in one outfit

(shameless photo reposting)
I LOVE seeing pictures of her!!! She is just such a cutie!!!
What is the name of this pattern, the ruffled peasant top that Tom made
, and where on YCMT do I find it?
Tom taught me about upholstery thread when I was going crazy trying to gather a flannel nightgown. I use it in a basting stitch whenever I gather and it works like a charm and never breaks. I am ruffler foot-challenged, so basting and gathering seems to work the best for me.
If it gets stuck in your machine DO NOT yank on it!! Right Heather!?!!
Unless, you want a new machine.....
You sewed for BARBIE? I still complain about sewing for Jord. I would go nuts

sewing for Barbie. I want to see pictures (please)
I'm kind of missing Jord. I haven't seen a picture of him in a long time....
Here's my work for the day. It took approximately 6 hours to do the work. Still need to fray check the ribbon and attach the lace on the hem. Or should I just hem it? What do you think?
C
I plan on making a peasant top to go with it. Maybe out of gauze or batiste.
THAT IS BREATHTAKING!!!!! Just beautiful!!!! I love the lace at the bottom, it makes a gorgeous outfit even more special!!! That is something you could pass down to your grandchildren!!! Sooooo pretty!!!!
Oh my - I am doomed! I just can't keep up! Here is the pic of the outfit I made for Emma for her birthday tomorrow. I couldn't help but include the one of her rolling her eyes at me! This is the YCMT peasant top - I used the long sleeved pattern but had to add at least 4 inches on it to make it that way. Anyone else have that problem?
I love this picture! She has such beautiful hair! It's growing really fast!
That is a cute outfit!!! What is the fabric that you used? Do you have some close ups?
Now.... I hear everyone talking about a ruffler, I've been thinking of getting one (but they are $90.00 here

so I'd have to do some serious sweet talking - or get selling some stuff on Trademe which is our equiv to

). Do you think I *need* one??? ATM I gather using the shirring elastic which I find works well - or I do a zigzag stitch over embroidery floss (prefer the shirring elastic now I know how to use it). Will a ruffler do proper pleats also??
What other non normal feet do you consider a must have?? as I will probably buy a couple to get the most out of my postage.
You need a ruffler! I love mine. I haven't optimized it yet, but I will! I HATE to gather, so this thing is great! Do you know what kind you would need? low, high or slant shank? (there are pictures of the different shanks in the bookmarks) I like the rolled hem foot too. Which reminds me... YEAH DEANN!
Does shirring around the neckline looks better than using elastic in a casing? I think you can do it that way as well?
They both look nice, it just depends on what look you are going for.
