Any thoughts on reselling customs? I have several sets (some purchased from wonderful dissers) and need to sell them but really dont want to use ebay. Has anyone used craigslist or is there another option??

What is the name of this pattern, the ruffled peasant top that Tom made
, and where on YCMT do I find it?

This is my first attempt at posting pictures, so I hope I have followed the instructions properly. This is the MK outfit for my DD4

Great job! I like them all! Including the ones from your second post that I forgot to quote

I was in Wal-Mart a little while ago picking up some fabric to make DD a Valentine's dress and I asked the lady about the book panels. She said that they had just put them on sale, and they were already sold out. I told her about making a skirt with them. She pulled a panel from under her table and told me that she would put a good price on it for me. She had cut off the instructions, but since I was going to be using it for a skirt she said that it shouldn't matter. So I got this panel:

And I only paid a penny for it. It has little children's prayers on it. It is a cream color and I found some lace that matched it. I have a pink t-shirt to go with it.

Here is what I worked on today!

I'm sending it to my mom's best friend's grandbaby :) .

Love the new pattern, I'm adding that to my wish list! DD10's name starts with a J and she wants that shirt! (but a little larger :lmao: ) I guess you've realized by now that the stripwork jumper and portrait peasant dress patterns are very popular around here! They are my 2 favorite patterns! I'm dying to try raglan t's but I'm askeered. I haven't sewn with knits before.

Here are my 2 favorite patterns in one outfit :lovestruc (shameless photo reposting)

For some reason, that fabric REALLY reminds me of my mom :lovestruc

I love this pattern! So cute! Are the scallops hard to sew? Do you use a rolled hem presser foot? I tend to fight a little with mine. I did get my new machine today, though, and I can't wait to try it out! I have the HM fabric that they had at WM. I am still debating on making a skirt out of this, or a twirl top to be worn with tights. I just can't decide......

I guess I am going to stop at WM tomorrow after school and see if they have anything good on sale, I need to make an animal kingdom outfit.

I tell you, I am ready for spring! I am tired of cold, snow, rain, mud,..............I need sunshine and warm weather!

Awww that is so sweet. It reminded me of my grandma for some reason. When I saw it I just had to have it. I know when my grandma sees the finished product she will love it.

Oooh - and I think I can contribute something about turning things inside out! Stitch a long piece of yarn to the end that is opposite your opening (use tight tiny stitches to hold it in place), and have it sandwiched between your two layers. When you are ready to turn inside out, just pull on the yarn. The technique works even for the skinniest of spaghetti straps. I've heard the bodkins work great too, I need to try one!

Carla

What a great tip! Thank you!

love love love love love, the dress and the pose!

Thanks. These were taken before we knew of the "Anastasia!"

My aunt did that she takes about 3 hrs a page:scared1: She does beautiful work it just takes her forever and every page is super heavy because she triple mattes alot of the pictures. She is very "old School" with her tools- Templates/with fancy scissors and photo splits. The cricut and the tape runner our not good for her- we gave her a tape runner one time- she had it for about a minute before she threw it across the room cuz it got all tangled up!!! It has been a lot of fun and great bonding for us "girls"- we go away 1-2 weekends a year to one of my aunts cabins.

I probably take that long when I scrapbook too! I am very indecisive, it takes me forever to figure out what I want to do. I hate those photo splits though, I use good old Scotch double sided tape!

I love the mermaid nightgown- How could you possibly say no!

No, I can't say no to her. I know I have a limited time left before she is too cool for me!

Aww Megan is such a little doll. Love her new nightgown. Hey I musta missed something, what is the scoop on the upholstery thread????? :confused3

Where's this upholstery thread? Love the nightgown! I love making them for my girls too!

Tom taught me about upholstery thread when I was going crazy trying to gather a flannel nightgown. I use it in a basting stitch whenever I gather and it works like a charm and never breaks. I am ruffler foot-challenged, so basting and gathering seems to work the best for me.

I think someone on here said how to fix it if you got the mobile photobucket. What was the fix again?

I do believe they are EXTREMELY similar in size! Nana

I think I read somewhere that the clothes you can get in the parks for the my Disney doll (or something like that) fit the AG dolls. They are a little snug but they fit. Don't know for sure though.

It is close to the same size. I have the Minnie Mouse dress made for the Disney 18 inch doll. It fits my AG doll. I think it is a little snug in the waist.

Thank you! I guess if I use the doll patterns for 18" doll, it will fit both dolls but a little big on the Disney doll.

The top is WAY cute, but what the heck is 'shirring'?? Funny your kids are the same age as mine! I love the three year age difference, but you'd think they wouldn't fight so much!!

Thank you! Shirring is the stitching around the neckline. You use elastic thread as your bobbin so it gives it stretch. You can see it better on Tom's peasant top pictures.

Megan and Wyatt are just about 2 1/2 years apart and I hear much more bickering between the two of them than I'd like. :rolleyes1

I made a nightgown for my daughter with that Tink fabric, it's so cute! I love the purple pants with it.

My daughter walked by and said, that puppy curls up just like Scrappy! They are both so stinkin' cute!

I love it! Which pattern are you using?

I used Butterick B4910, it was very easy.

Cute: I really like the sleeves. They look really good with the long sleeved t underneath.

Do you have trouble with fingerprints on your computer screen?
I found the perfect solution.

Funny! I have to show that to the kids in the morning. Thanks!

We were in WDW Wed Jan 23 to Mon Jan 28. It was not a good trip. :headache:

A little back story: We were there in Sept 2007, just the three of us and we had a fabulous trip. Lauren loved everything - the rides, the characters, the parades. She talked about the trip for weeks after. Her favorites were Small World and TTA.

Flash forward a few months, DH has a business trip to Orlando in Jan 2008. We decide since Sept was such a success why not go again. My mother and the In-laws decide to join us since they heard us blab about how much fun we had in Sept.

Well, let me tell you 4 months makes a huge difference with a preschooler/toddler. Lauren was a tantrum-throwing nightmare. She actually cried on Small World - WHO CRIES ON SMALL WORLD???:scared: :scared: :scared: She did not want to see any characters, even though we had 2 character meals.:headache: :headache: :headache: All she wanted to do was play hide and seek at the playground at the hotel.

Add to all of that, it was cold! OK, it was warmer than home but it was still colder than I was hoping for. We wore sweatshirts every day so you could not even see the custom outfits I made for Lauren. (I'll post photos once I upload them off the camera.) Low to mid 50's in the am and maybe the mid to upper 60's in the afternoon.

I guess I am just so disappointed in how the trip played out. Lauren and I "fought" every morning about getting dressed (she did not want to wear the things I made her) and having her hair done (I barely combed it never mind but in the bows I made). It was helpful to have more adults around; my mother took Lauren back to the hotel 2 afternoons so DH and I could have some fun in the parks. It will be a while before I consider another trip to WDW.:upsidedow

I'm so sorry you didn't have a cooperative child! I hope next time will be better.

Sorry, the chickmagnet is my favorite! So cute!

All your outfits look great! You will have a great time I am sure.

I think someone on here said how to fix it if you got the mobile photobucket. What was the fix again?

There is something in blue on the left bottom of the screen. Click on it and it should change it. I think it is too small to read, but it says something like "mobile photobucket."

Well, I finished my Ariel peasant top (made out of the pillowcase, silly Heather, not a pillowcase made out of Ariel fabric, lol). Megan tried it on and when she bent over I could see all of her backside. Two ruffles later, I hope it will be long enough to be decent! I am going to try to tackle the skirt next, but our PTA president just called and asked if I would help her write an e-mail to a disgruntled parent. Maybe tomorrow!

Hey Girls-

The more I see that Piglet dress, the more I love it!!!!! And, I've never seen that Fantasmic skirt before :) Much cuter than "it"

I have offically been CASEd!!!!!! That looks so cute!

GUESS WHAT? I got my ruffler today! I just started reading carlac's ebook and am hoping to get some time this afternoon to try and start to "optimize" it! I can't wait to try this thing out!

I was hoping to get mine today, but it didn't come... I can't wait!!! I also ordered a rolled hemming foot (finally, Teresa!!) and can't wait for that either.

I just found this thread. Can I join you? I've just started sewing again after many years of not doing much. I'm working on teaching DD9 how to sew and making clothing for her American Girl dolls. She made PJ pants and a puppet for Girl Scouts and is excited to learn sewing! I'm having fun making clothes for the dolls (boy are those parts small...I'm glad I'm not making Barbie clothes)!!!

Anyway, do people just share Disney-related projects, just clothing (including dogs...cute)?
Thanks!
UMTerp

:welcome: Of course you can join us! I made my first Barbie dress last week and now my girls think I'm Queen of the Universe! I should've never opened that can of worms!

So cute!

and finally, their outfits for DHS:

More cute stuff!! I had to think a minute, I couldn't figure out what DHS was... Gotta get used to that!

There's that beautiful girl!!!!! I love seeing pics of her!

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: I was thinking it was a "thread", ya know, like this thread we're on now!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I think someone on here said how to fix it if you got the mobile photobucket. What was the fix again?

On the very bottom corner of the page there is a link you can click on. I'm not sure what it says exactly, I think Lori can help you better and she might still be sewing!
