Here is what I worked on today!

I'm sending it to my mom's best friend's grandbaby :) .

And here is my handsome son modeling a very full reversible twirl skirt (he calls them "tworl skorts"). We ended up giving this one to one of his little friends, and she wore it on her birthday, and is going to wear again on Valentine's.

OK - I've got my five already - thanks for the great response and the wonderful warm welcome!!! One of you asked if I'm on YCMT - I sure am, I do the sewboutique4dolly patterns :) .

I've got to get my post count up to 10 before I can write anyone back. Anyone have any ruffler-related questions - LOLOLOL!

I love your patterns, especially the stripwork jumper pattern...and the ruffler ebook is great. It really helped me when I bought my ruffler foot...the instructions that came with it was pretty useless.

Your son is adorable!!!! Love the first set, and also the twirl skirts. My dd loves anything that twirls!

Hey Girls-

I have not checked out the new thread because I have been sewing like the wind for our trip. We leave Feb 29th. I still have a lot to do but I thought I would show everyone what I have been working on.

Here you go . . . oh and I have managed to keep the trip a surprise!!!

These I re-did. They are one of the first things I every made. The babes dress was too long so I shortened it. The girls will be wearing these to Epcot and the Coral Reef.

Your son looks SOOOOO happy to model your "tworl" skirts.

These are great, I really like that chick magnet shirt!

Anyone here knows the size of the Sleeping Beauty Doll from the Tea Party? Is it the same size as the 18" American Girl Doll? I am taking dd to the tea party, and am thinking if I have time, I would like to sew some matching outfits for the doll that she is going to get as well. Would be nice if the American Girl doll and the Sleeping Beauty Doll are the same size since she has asked for the AG doll, Mia for either her birthday or Christmas.

I do believe they are EXTREMELY similar in size! Nana

I think I read somewhere that the clothes you can get in the parks for the my Disney doll (or something like that) fit the AG dolls. They are a little snug but they fit. Don't know for sure though.

It is close to the same size. I have the Minnie Mouse dress made for the Disney 18 inch doll. It fits my AG doll. I think it is a little snug in the waist.

Love the idea of the reversible skirt. Is that one of your patterns? Or did you wing it?

Hello everyone!

I just found this thread. Can I join you? I've just started sewing again after many years of not doing much. I'm working on teaching DD9 how to sew and making clothing for her American Girl dolls. She made PJ pants and a puppet for Girl Scouts and is excited to learn sewing! I'm having fun making clothes for the dolls (boy are those parts small...I'm glad I'm not making Barbie clothes)!!!

Anyway, do people just share Disney-related projects, just clothing (including dogs...cute)?

Thanks!

UMTerp

Of course you can join, and we talk about anything and everything, not just disney and not just sewing either! WELCOME!!!!

Just thought I would share with all of you what I got at the Disney Store today. It's not clothing but some of you might want to see if your nearest store has them -- they don't have them online.

These are reusable shopping bags made of 100% polypropolene. I put an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper next to them for you to see how big they are. On the inside, the sheet of paper was just shy of fitting exactly into it.

I thought they were the cutest thing and I plan on putting them up to use for the kids goodie bags on our next trip. Unless I cave and use them for a holiday goodie bag instead.

The best part about these bags is they were only $2.50 -- regular price! My mall was doing a promotion and had an extra 15% off coupon, so I got them for $2.13!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought all they had left (6 of them) and quite a few other customers were pretty upset that I had snatched them all. The CM said they were hoping to be getting some more in soon!! Also, they had almost all of the clearance stuff an additional 50% off too! I got some washcloths for .99 and some plush things for $1.50! Can't beat that!

Just thought I would share!

GREAT DEALS!!! Wish we had a Disney store nearby!:sad2:

Carla, that is gorgeous!!! When the picture first started loading, I thought someone else had had the idea that I had! I am thinking of making an Ariel skirt with it. I have some green shiny mermaid scales material that I thought might be really cute! It's a great pattern! I love your tip about sewing the tulle!

To answer a couple questions:

The Alice Fabric is from :wizard: It came from Japan and I am so glad I bought it. I only wish I bought more.
I will keep my eye out for it then. I wasn't sure about it.

WELCOME!!

I went to my Wal-Mart yesterday and they had the Hannah Montana fabric -- it was the sateen shiney stuff. I don't like working with it and I have too many other projects to do so I didn't buy any.
The satin material they have at our Wal-Mart has a soft back to it, so I think I might give it a try and see if I can make something for DD. The satin is her favorite of the HM fabric. I did see that our Wal-Mart does have the flannel HM fabric as well.

This is my first attempt at posting pictures, so I hope I have followed the instructions properly. This is the MK outfit for my DD4

All of your outfits are so cute.

I have the first fabric and the colors are really hard to match anything to, so I haven't made anything yet with it.

I also have the first fabric and had a tough time finding colors that went well with it. I finally found turquoise worked the best. Fortunately it is a hot color for spring this year, so you should be able to find stuff to coordinate with it, but take the fabric with you. The first time I didn't and ended up returning a bunch of stuff (I was looking for jeans to go with it).
