Elisa...I LOVE your sailor outfit. It turned out perfect!! The Ahoy is my favorite part.

Deann...what do you have planned for the Marie fabric? My oldest DD loves Marie!!!!

So more questions from the newbie ....

Do your children wear the outfits all day in the parks?? or is it normally for special stuff (character meals etc).

What shoes do they wear so they fit in with the outfit but are still comfortable enough for all that walking??

It looks at this stage that we will be in Disneyland October 09 (sounds much better just saying next year) Can someone tell me what the weather is like around october? What sort of clothes can you suggest?.......

I think I'm going to have to start a "to sew" list

Already on there is the Amy Butler Weekender bag - think I might try to disneyfy it :rolleyes1

A big disney quilt for each of the girls (this is for christmas) made from Minky :cloud9:

Some outfits......

Is there anything else I need to get addicted too :rolleyes1

I don't know if anyone else has answered this, but I will answer for what we did in May (our first and only trip so far).

1. My DD wore her outfits to the parks every day. brianna and Spencer will both have customs if I can get my tushie in gear for our next trip, and they'll wear them all day. The only exception to this was Brianna's Snow white dress which we put on special for the Proincess dinner one night.

2. Brianna wore sandals all day every day. Now, she is the child known for wearing mismatching clothes because she likes them, but she was fine in her sandals. We also brought sneakers and socks for a few days, but she loved her sandals, and they worked fine with her dresses.

3. Never been to DL, so no answers here. :) sorry.

Good luck!

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Okay, I just got back from the World last night and was all ready to do some catching up and it was gone! So I found you all again right away, and it looks like I still have plenty of catching up, but I feel a bit weird that I missed so much! Maybe when I get caught up I'll know more of what's going on, or maybe not :rotfl: So I can't wait to post some photos! I'm currently trying to upload 700 photos from my camera and I need to order my photopass CD. I have 164 photos on there. I think I may have to do a mini TR on the TR board just so I can tell you all about my trip and share a ton of photos! My disboutiquer friends will probably be the only ones who show up to read it since this is usually the only place I hang out. We had a great trip, Lily got tons of attention in her customs. I'll probably be caught up on this thread (except for the missing week! I feel like I have amnesia or something) by the time all of my photos upload and I get some into photobucket.

Can't wait to hear about your trip and see pictures.

I'm so excited, my first outfit to share on the new thread!! After much debating, i finally decided on my first ever twirl skirt for dinner at The Crystal Palcace! I love the way it turned out! I'll be making more of this type of skirt!! It is made from a storybook kit from Joann's.

I made these!! Yay, I get to help someone!! I asked the same questinos before I made them, LOL.

I don't cut open the side seam, I just measure about 2" from under the arm, use heat n bond (lite) on the ribbon to keep it from moving while you stitch it, and fold under the ends. You can't tell the ends are folded under. I use regular thread all purpose I think. My best tip I got was to use the heat n bond on the ribbon! It makes a world of difference!! Just remember - grosgrain ribbon (probably all ribbon) doesn't like a hot iron!! I learned this the hard way!

Super cute! I can't wait to try!!!

These are too cute! Wow the possibilities I bet my 14 year old would not gripe about wearing them either!

I ADORE this! I had never thought of using a storybook kit to do those! We always use them to make quilts though. Very cute! I think I even have some old pooh storybooks from a few years ago in my storage building that I am not wanting to go clean out! :scared1:

Thank you all for the compliments. She loves it so that is the most important thing anyway. She has been all prissy around the house in it today. :) We are potty training so her wearing overalls has been LOTS of fun. :rotfl: And yes she is a doll we adore her. She is going to be the one that rips my heart out when she goes, well not just me my hubby and my kiddos as well. We are just trying to focus on she and her brother and the hear and now. And how that if and when she goes she will be going home to grandma who loves her dearly. :goodvibes

I also got this in the mail the other day! I loved glorib's Marie outfit so much, I went on the hunt for fabric. I got this on voldemort and it came from Malaysia. I can't wait to make dd2's outfit!
Mariefabric.jpg

I've used some of the fabric from malaysia. You have to be careful not to use too hot of an iron on it. It will melt. And after awhile, it gets all old and pilly looking. I used some in my patchwork jacket, and didn't have any trouble with it looking old. but then that is the look of my jackets.

I found this one at Wal-Mart last night. It's the one that I'm working on right now for DD's Mardi Gras dress. I'm making the double layer skirt one with the regular top. I had plenty of room to do appliques on.
pattern.jpg

I franken pattern also. Like this dress. I'm doing the bottom of one dress and the top of another.

Thanks for this one. I like the top on it. And the variation with the bow ties at the shoulder is really cute. Thanks!!

I finished DD's Mardi Gras dress but the camera is dead. While I have it charging I will go ahead and make her the hat. She has a crown that she wants to wear on the day of the parade but she wants the hat also (in case she can wear it to school).

You guys have been some of the cutest outfits. 2cutekidz: I love the skirt you made for your DD. I never thought of using the storybooks for anything other than storybooks.

I haven't made it to DL yet. But Kirsta wears her outfits all day. And her shoes, it depends. I bought white keds with the thick soles. So they go with everything. We usually get Princess sneakers to go with the Princess outfits. And we've done the sandles that don't really go with anything, but are comfy and I don't have to hear her complain that her feet hurt.

Here are a couple of her outfits:

I LOVE some of these outfits. I have two questions...

1) how do you go about getting such cute things if you don't sew?

2) Are there any threads about customized t-shirts?

THANKS!

I am so excited!! I just got this fabric in the mail today from "the site that shall not be named!". I paid way too much for it, but I've tried to get it for some months. Kirsta has had 3 variations of the Blue cinderella fabric for her special dress with Cinderella and this is new and different!!

Well I decided to Disney-fy my sailor outfit. Here is the results. I haven't put the hooks inside the top, so it's just pinned, that's why it's hanging funny in the front. Also there will be a red ribbon on the front...eventually..LOL

:dance3: Gorgeous....I love the pattern and the colors and I can't believe you are going to to have to sell it....it's beautiful!:cutie:

This is one of our favorite Tshirts. You can iron on. There is a creative board. Arts and crafts I think it is. There is also some iron on bling (crystals) you can get. There are Mickey buttons in the scrapbook section of ACMoore and Michaels you can embelish some shirts. :wizard: Has some custom sellers.

You are selling the sailor set?!!? Why can't you make them in a 5?!!? How cute would that have been on our cruise!

1. Some of us are custom sewers so if you want to buy a copy of something you can ask.
2. Some of us are ebayers and you can see the id in their signatures.
3. You could just take your chance at buying off ebay.
4. You could guilt your mom into making some stuff.
5. You could look at some of the tutorials and learn how! We will guide you!

Let us know what you decide!!

Here is what I have been working on the past few days...
th_clothingcreations018.jpg

After I took the pic, I fixed the sash so it is shorter and hangs better.

I made this from the boys old sheets. I put myself on a fabric budget so I had to make do:lmao: The Buzz fabric was the flat sheet, and the blue/turquoise fabric is the fitted sheet. I had some of the green on hand.

Next up with this sheet set is an appliqued jeans set for my 2.5 yo ds.

These next pics are for flea, and whomever else wants to take interest:goodvibes
This is the custom diaper I just got in the mail!:thumbsup2
betcha can't tell which team we root for!
th_clothingcreations021.jpg

That Buzz outfit is TOOO cute!!!! And, the diaper cover, adorable!!!

Hee, the baby talked to me. I once asked our ped why Megan was making all those strange noises and he said, that's baby talk, completely normal. I had never heard it before and thought something was wrong with her. I am sure he thought I was a complete nutcase.
I will laugh WITH you, along with Heather! At least you weren't scared of the baby!

Lydia hates hair in her face too, so she is always asking me to cut her bangs. I've threatened her to NEVER try to do it herself though! I hope she listens!
I am always begging Arminda to let me cut her bangs, I love the way they frame her face. She always wants to grow them out and I'm always trying to get her to let me cut them!

Arminda? Talkative? :confused3 Lydia was a freakishly smart baby!!
I love your new avatar and siggy pictures!! Where did you find the little Belle in your siggy?

Yeah, really, Armida talks a lot! I'm suprised you never noticed. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: (The ENTIRE trip home from Florida!!! NINETEEN HOURS STRAIGHT!!!!)

It was the site that Tinka_Belle posted earlier. Let me see...

Here it is: http://www.stupidguesttricks.com/misc.php?do=getsmilies&editorid=vB_Editor_001

I resized it though, so it wouldn't make my siggy too big.

I sooo know how you feel. There are days when I think I'm going to go insane from listening to 4 yr old banter. She does have a great imagination though...if only I could get her to stop repeating herself constantly.
Lydia repeats herself constantly! Even when I respond to her. If I don't respond with the exact right response, she just says it over and over and over and over again!

OK I am done. I should have taken my time and gone slower but I learned a LOT about how to applique and that was my major reason behind doing something so big for the first time. :) I know my speed now. My last thing I did was the red around Bob and I think it is much better than the rest. I have to go at snail speed and I see that now lol.

From the front wish I could show you guys my model she is a cutie but can't do it.

From behind.

I do not think I am going to add any rick rack or anything to make it "girly". I really like it on her like this with just a ponytail ... I will make her a big bow and get a red shirt to go under probably. Now do you guys think it needs something more? I just cannot decide if it is done done kwim?

FANTASTIC!!!! These look adorable!!!! I would say you are done!!! Great job!

SO CUTE Deann!!! I love it!!! I still need to make Lydia's outfit with the fabric we got. She really wants the same outfit Glorib made, so I think I will do that (but without the applique).

Gosh, thanks! :goodvibes It was a bit chilly, in the 50's and low 60's. Of course, coming from the teens, it felt like summer! :lmao: We got some major rain on our last day. I think the kids liked the rainy day the best...go figure! We all looked like drowned rats, but, we were happy drowned rats!
I would like to see the drowned rats pictures!

Well I was making a dress for myself - just a basic shirred one now I know how and it is just so hot here atm - but 5 rows in and i'm out of shirring elastic  - I was sure I had more but alas it has been lost in my neverending notion dungeon. Obviously I got annoyed when my machine wouldn't play nice and threw it somewhere in a tanty :rolleyes1 ;)

Oh, it is very warm here today too! A whole whopping 27 degrees!!! BUT, that's about 32 degrees warmer than it was the other day, so it feels like a heat wave!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: The windchill was 20 below the other day too! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Notion dungeon!!! FUNNY!

So more questions from the newbie ....

My girls would wear their princess dresses all day in the park, so I'm planning on them wearing the customs I make all day. They wear sandals or crocs with everything! For BBB though, Arminda has some glass slipper looking shoes she wants to wear.
