Ok, here are some things I've done lately:

A nightgown for my dgd2. I'm going to send this to her for Vday.

Dd7 designed this dress (with my help, but she thinks it was all her idea :)).

A sweatshirt for dd2 to wear to wdw in December. This is from the pillowcase

Dumbo for dd2

Hopefully, I won't get behind now :)

Wendy nightgown for dd2
th_Wendy7.jpg

They're all cute, but I LOVE the Dumbo & the Wendy gown. Too cute!

I'm glad I did this top before I did the Ariel one, I'm going to make that one a little wider than this one and I'll do the arms a little different, it looks like it will fit DD but I won't know until tomorrow since she's actually asleep (and finally not talking.)

I sooo know how you feel. There are days when I think I'm going to go insane from listening to 4 yr old banter. She does have a great imagination though...if only I could get her to stop repeating herself constantly.

Well I decided to Disney-fy my sailor outfit. Here is the results. I haven't put the hooks inside the top, so it's just pinned, that's why it's hanging funny in the front. Also there will be a red ribbon on the front...eventually..LOL

LOVE it! :lovestruc

I've heard that before...:rolleyes1 ;)

Am I weird that I got teary-eyed looking at your precious little baby?
I also got teary-eyed just a minute ago when I came across nursing bras in the JCPenney catalog and thought "I'll never need to buy another one of those." So, I'm a bit odd.

Nope, I don't think it's weird. My DH and I have always wanted gobs of children (we currently have 5;) ). We were thinking 7 sounded good. Anyway, after I birthed my 4th I cried because I was more than halfway done and it seemed sad to me. Pretty pathetic huh. I don't know what I'll do when we decide that we are not having any more children.
So no... not weird at all.

The pattern is from a butterick dress, for the bodice, then the strips, I just measured how long I wanted them, in this case 16 inches, and how wide I want them. I hardly ever follow patterns anyway...LOL.

I don't either. I tend to "franken" pattern. I'm looking for something with a plain top to applique on. I'll have to look at the buttericks. Otherwise, I found one on YCMT, but it was $9.

This is a great Cruise dress! I love it.

OK I am done. I should have taken my time and gone slower but I learned a LOT about how to applique and that was my major reason behind doing something so big for the first time. :) I know my speed now. My last thing I did was the red around Bob and I think it is much better than the rest. I have to go at snail speed and I see that now lol.

French Pea which I am also happy with because I slowed down with him as well.

Junior (I forgot his mouth and I am debating how I am going to add the black line without reripping the pants undone!) lol
sewing019.jpg

From the front wish I could show you guys my model she is a cutie but can't do it. :(

I do not think I am going to add any rick rack or anything to make it "girly". I really like it on her like this with just a ponytail ... I will make her a big bow and get a red shirt to go under probably. Now do you guys think it needs something more? I just cannot decide if it is done done kwim?

I think you did an excellent job! I would re-rip the pants to put Juniors mouth on. I always seem to take a shortcut, and it ends up taking me longer. So I have been willing myself to do it the right way from now on:)

I LOVE this! We are staying at the BC next trip. I really think I might have to case that AHOY idea for shirts it is too cute. Now only if I could really sew. Is that a ribbon on the bottom of her skirt? It adds such a great touch.

Tnmom25 - what did you use for the grey in your Dumbo. I have been wanting to do a Dumbo, but I haven't found any grey calico yet. I think I get a too specific idea in my head and then I get frustrated when I can't find my made-up item I am looking for.

My dh picked that out for me at Hobby Lobby. It's just a solid cotton. I had a hard time finding any print that looked the right shade.

For those of you who made the dresses with the princess pillowcases from WalMart/KMart/Kohl's, I have a couple of questions.

1. When appliqueing the princess, I see where you went around different hair strands, lips, eyes. Did you do that because the applique was so big so it wouldn't pucker? I really like the look of it, but don't think my "applique technique" is good enough for that. How hard is it?

2. I was going to put something between the applique and the fabric so the fabric wouldn't show through. What did you use? And did you just use heat-n-bond lite to stick them together before appliqueing?
Chantell

Chantell, I did all the lines just to make it look more finished and textured. It wasn't hard at all, just take your time so you stay on the lines. I did Belle on a sweatshirt and I did use HnB lite, you don't want to use Ultra!

I'm not usually keen on sailor type outfits either, but this is cute! I, too, have had that whale fabric in my hands several times but just could never see what I would do with it.

Here is what I have been working on the past few days...

th_clothingcreations020.jpg
th_clothingcreations021.jpg

My ds used to have those sheets! Cute outfit and I can't believe that diaper cover is so darn cute! So, you're a Yankees fan right? :lmao:

As for Jr., just do a embroidered backstitch by hand, that's what I would do. That looks great and I agree a big bow and you're all set!

WOW!! You did a terrific job on these!!! I can tell your model is adorable from the back of her head! I think these look done. If you add anything else it might make them look girly and you won't be able to put them on a boy. I would just leave the poor guy without a mouth, but I'm a little lazy. I'm sure no one would notice. You could also try embroidering it on by hand, that way you wouldn't have to re-open the leg. You could also try drawing it on with a fabric marker.

Thank you. It really was sad. She knew what it was and everything. I had not a clue. She was 5 and I was 25 and a first time parent that had 4 little ones placed with us at one time. They all had lice, but Leanne's hair was so long, thick and curly I could not get rid of it. I was also not allowed to have it cut and thinned out at all since the bio family was still calling the shots. :confused3 They can not parent well enough to have them in the home, but they can make decisions like hair cuts, bike riding, swimming, swing sets and vacations. None of which they wanted the kids to do at our house. They said if they take all of the parental control away they would just give up and not visit or work the case plan. Well...our 5-year gottcha day is February 26 so we see how well that worked out. That’s OK, they belonged here with us and are truly different kids. One of these days I am going to post our adoption stories:)

I am glad that you were able to catch it fast and get it taken care of.

Thanks for the luck.... We need it! It is sad the girls were fighting. I actually think it was more a group of moms were saying things to their girls and the girls were taking it to the gym. I totally agree that the parents were worse than the kids. There was a mom last night that said to her DD "you didn’t take to J (the coach) did you? Remember I said respect him, but you are not to speak to him!" :confused3 I was shocked. The parent’s problem is they think the coach is too hard on the girls. But several of them are so disrespectful that he has to be hard on them. They have this attitude like my parents pay you a lot of money so I can do what I want. I have heard them say it to the girls. I have honestly told Leanne things like I pay to much money for you to be messing around, you need to stay focused etc. But never anything like they are saying. I can not believe it. This is probably Leanne's last year. It is a lot of money... close to $6,000/year (don't tell DH.. he doesn’t ask so I don’t tell) and she is not having any fun anymore.

We have the same problem with winning and losing. The parents don’t want extra practices but when we lose they don't understand why. One mom yanked her kids off the team because we got second two weeks in a row and another mom said she was mad and thought we were judged unfairly last week??? Some parents are really sending the wrong message to their kids.

OK, I am stepping down from my soapbox now.

UGH! I feel your pain! My DD12 cheers, and has for 4 yrs now...I also coached for a while and it is tough! The girls are hard, but the parents are HARDER! It's insane! I've always told Seli that when it isn't fun anymore, it's time to quit....and with as expensive as it is... We actually switched gyms this past fall and Seli is much happier...I am too...it's made a huge difference. The parents will still have bad attitudes though, no matter where you go, unfortunately! I just try to stay out of all the negativity and encourage Seli to do the same. Anyway! Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

OH MY GOSH...OH MY GOSH...OH MY GOSH!!!! That is absolutely ADORABLE! I WANT! I WANT! I WANT! My little baby's name is Saylor and she NEEDS that outfit!!! That turned out absolutely adorable! The Mickey and "ahoy" are a perfect addition! GREAT JOB!!! :cheer2:

Look what I found today! I went to a sewing shop and found out that they have over 6,000 bolts of fabric including some Michael Miller    I spent 2hrs testing embroidery machines and then 1hr browsing fabric! This is all I bought today, but I will be going back.
I like the red/black for use with Mickey & Minnie customs, the letters are for something else I have planned, and this Mickey fabric I've never seen before.

I LOVE that mickey mouse fabric! I am going to have to keep an eye out for it!

I also got this in the mail the other day! I loved glorib's Marie outfit so much, I went on the hunt for fabric. I got this on voldemort and it came from Malaysia. I can't wait to make dd2's outfit!

It was on sale, I got it for $4.80/yd. I will be going back there on Monday, so if anyone wants some, just pm me.

Is that like the cutest family EVER or what!!! What GORGEOUS KIDS!!!!

AWWW, that is so sweet!!! I love Saylor's little skirt!!! And, the look on her face is priceless!

I really love these skirt!! That's the Tween skirt from YCMT right? I have that pattern and haven't done it yet. I think it is a great one for older girls!

You are just TOOOO cute!!!! You could have worn one of those skirts too!

Cute, cute and CUTE!!!!! Such handsome boys!!!!

Was it cold when you were there? It looks kind of chilly.
Gosh, thanks! :goodvibes It was a bit chilly, in the 50's and low 60's. Of course, coming from the teens, it felt like summer! :lmao: We got some major rain on our last day. I think the kids liked the rainy day the best...go figure! We all looked like drowned rats, but, we were happy drowned rats! :yay: :yay: :yay:

So I went to Walmart and I didn't find amazing fabrics, but it was a success. I think we're going to do the ribbon shirt, but I have a few questions for the ribbon shirt lady - did you carry the ribbon all the way to the back? Did you use basic black for Mickey or silky black or does it matter?

So now that I have my Ariel and Belle I'm going to practice my Applique technique.

Another question for everyone I picked up HeatnBond iron on adhesive and didn't realize until I was home that it was a no-sew version. Has anyone used this before?

After I took the pic, I fixed the sash so it is shorter and hangs better.

I made this from the boys old sheets. I put myself on a fabric budget so I had to make do:lmao: The Buzz fabric was the flat sheet, and the blue/turquoise fabric is the fitted sheet. I had some of the green on hand.

Next up with this sheet set is an appliqued jeans set for my 2.5 yo ds.

These next pics are for flea, and whomever else wants to take interest:goodvibes
This is the custom diaper I just got in the mail!:thumbsup2
betcha can't tell which team we root for!

I love the buzz outfit and what a fantastic diaper - is it a pocket?? or a cover?? How old is your gorgeous bubba?? If you want a disney diaper let me know I'm happy to sew you up one :) Everyone on here has been so lovely to me that I'm happy to spread the love. It may take me a couple of weeks - I love sewing the diapers but hate doing the snaps lol :) I have some tinkerbell PUL or some Pooh bear PUL (and more but I can't remember off the top of my head :) )

Can't wait to see what you come up with!!! I'm always making doodles of outfits I want to make!

Well I was making a dress for myself - just a basic shirred one now I know how and it is just so hot here atm - but 5 rows in and i'm out of shirring elastic  - I was sure I had more but alas it has been lost in my neverending notion dungeon. Obviously I got annoyed when my machine wouldn't play nice and threw it somewhere in a tanty :rolleyes1 ;)
