Angela Camelotcats, Thank you for the fabric! It came yesterday!:thanks:

Can't wait to use it!

Funny story, DW saw the package and said, "What.... more fabric?"

I told her that is what I used to tell her!

She was going over the budget, and wanted to know how much this one costs us. I told her a VERY nice lady on the DISboards purchased it and shared her great find with a lot of people, for FREE! She just shook her head! I told her the NICEST people are on the DIS!

I love the baby outfit! The stripes and the flowers are so cute together. The AG outfit is darling too. I have always found them much easier than bigger clothes, maybe I am sloppier!

AAAAA-AAAA-AAAAA-AAAACHOOOOO!!!! There, now don't you feel better? :lmao: The top looks
really good on you! I like that material too! $1 very cool!

Thank you! I am sorry that Lydia is not feeling well now. She waited until you were better so there would be someone to take care of her!

See, we might be crazy, but it is a good crazy, lol!

Today is the big dance and Megan woke up with a cold. I knew she was a little off yesterday. Knowing her, she will fight through it, she is not a big wimp like me. She is very excited and already drew a picture of her and her dad at the dance. I will post pictures tonight!

TO FIX CINDYS HEAD ON THE HAIR BOW;

As per the Polymer clay techniques book

"it is important to choose the right kind of glue"
Superglue is good in liquid or gel form and is used to glue baked clay to baked clay.

Ok, I really posted to ask a question:

I am thinking about my trip in APril, and it's not like I already don't have enough to do, but do you think it would be tacky to make myself some patch-panel jeans for disney?? Or will I be on those "what was SHE thinking" threads? :)

Go for it! I made myself a pair in December and received many nice compliments! I do wish I had paired adifferent top with them. :confused3

I got goodies today!!!! My mail lady brought a package to my door today and look what was inside!! 2 minutes after opening the package, this happened. Guess she squeezed it a little too hard.
Picture180Small.jpg
Picture183Small.jpg

She was so upset! So I'll have to get some good glue and fix poor cindy up again. Thank you again!!!!! I love them!!! I promise pics of the girls when I get them all fixed up. :)

Superglue holds polymer clay really well. I use Loctite.

Here is the recipe I use. Super easy. It's kind of like edible playdough. My kids love playing with the scraps...
OOH! Thanks!!! I can't wait to try this (but not eat it, since I'm doing WW ;) )!

I was going to say how hard it must have been to make this until I saw that it was styrafoam- CHEATER!!! :rotfl: No, it's still great! All of your cakes are beautiful!

I didn't realize she was affected! I live in the same general area as tnmom, but we're about 30 minutes apart. Glad to know she's safe!
There was damage in my area (my best friend's church was completely destroyed), but no deaths in my immediate vicinity. I'm out of town this week, so I was spared even the scare.
I'm glad you weren't directly affected by the tornadoes. So sad about your friend's church. :sad1:

th_IMG_0004.jpg

And you can't see him, but Scrappy is right on my feet (I cropped him out!).
I have that red fabric!! I just got it at JoAnn for $1/yard a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was really cute! Anyway, you look great in this shirt! I wish I could wear something like that. Are you doing the JoJo and that's why you REALLY cropped out your legs? ;)

I have been looking at you guys post for the past couple days and was inspired to start learning how to sew. I had bought an old singer at a yard sale last year. After fooling with it for about an hour, I was able to sew one line. Then it broke. So can you recommend a good machine for a beginer. Also how did you learn to sew. Was it trial and error, did you have someone teach you, is there a website or book to read?

thanks for all your help
lynn
:welcome: Lynn!! Are you sure the machine is broken? Have you tried re-threading it and re-threading the bobbin and everything? What exactly happened to it? I have a Brother CS6000 and I LOVE it!!! Overstock.com has the best prices on this particular machine. It's $139, plus $2.95 shipping on there. If you use this link to get to the website, you get $5 off a $100 purchase (total $137.94). Here's a link:

ALL DAY kindergarten? JEALOUS! Seli, my 12 year old, went all day (when we lived in FL) and it was AWESOME! She did amazingly well and has totally benefitted ever since! None of my other kids were able to go all day...It'll be good for Camden AND for you!!!

That is SOOOOOO WRONG!!!!!! I literally shuddered when I read that!!!
It's okay, just take a deep breath, no one will touch the styrafoam, it's okay.

Can I join the weight watchers group in about a year and a half? I've got to finish cooking up this baby and I breast feed for a year during which I lose all of my weight initially and then it comes to a screeching halt. :confused3 I thought breast feeding was supposed to help you lose weight but it doesn't work for me. Thank God I don't put on a lot of weight during pregnancy since I'm carrying some extra cushioning around to start off with!
If you lose all of your weight while breast feeding, I'd say that it DOES help you to lose weight! I didn't gain much at all when pregnant with Tessa (25lbs total), but I gained 40lbs with Sawyer, and then some more after I had him with all the stress I was going through with my health. Anyway, I tend to eat like a pig while I'm breastfeeding and not gain weight. As soon as I stopped nursing Sawyer (about 2 months ago), I started putting on weight (same thing happened with Tessa). Wow, that was a long, pointless reply, huh? :lmao:

Okay, you've got me thinking I need a pair of decoupage capris for our trip!!!!

That looks really great.

When is you anniversary? ours is August 8th. Thanks for joining me! Now I don't feel so alone!

I definitely would have chosen WDW!

Our anniversary is August 23rd.

I finished the Ariel top. Here it is:

He makes a really cute Wendy!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Great outfits..and I love the first one - the A-line top and pants...love the fabric combination. Saylor is so cute. Have fun in Vegas!

WOW! You are very talented..beautiful cakes! I would be too embarass to post the picture of the Lightning McQueen and Pablo/Backyardigans cake that I made for my ds and dd last summer...it looks sloppy and far from perfect but at least they could recognize what it was and was happy with them. 2 and 4 year old are so easy to please when it comes to things like this. LOL

Thanks!!! Will that work better than e6000? That's what I have on hand but if super glue will work better I will go out and get some today. :)

Weight Watchers.....I'm in!!! I'm actually sitting here contemplating ordering the 3 months of weight watchers online. Does anyone use that or do you all go to meetings?? I've got about 100 lbs to lose. :( Seems with each pregnancy I just keep putting on the weight and never losing any. But I'm determined to do something about it and keep to it this time.

And on another note......I'm going to get a serger!!! Anyone have any low priced options for me? I'm thinking of this one http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=1723621 but I will say that I'm scared of threading it!!! :scared1:

That is my serger and I    it! The threading can be kinda scary, but only 2 of the 4 threads are difficult and I think I've finally got it down. It comes with a CD that shows you everything. Just remember to pull the little "tree" that holds the threads above the spools all the way up. :rotfl: It took me a while to figure out why my thread kept breaking!

As for WW, I did the "in-person" version and was very successful. My local WW had a "wee ones welcome" meeting where you could bring kids. It was a little loud, but at least I got to go. Years later after regaining weight I tried the online version and I sort of dropped off after a few weeks. I think I need the human interaction to force my accountability. Posting on here should help. I'm going to start out on my own right now and if it doesn't work, I'll need to get back to WW meetings!

You should never be embarrassed with the things that you do for your children and I'm sure they weren't bad at all.

To explain the Styrofoam "cake". In bakeries when they put a cake on display the inside is styrofoam usually wrapped in plastic wrap. This makes a cake form that can be decorated like a real cake without the inside going bad. The icing is real and the airbrushing on it is real too. The Western cake was on display for about two weeks until someone throw a huge peice of concrete through the huge front window of the bakery.

OK you asked for 'em... here are a couple more:

For a Luau Anniversary, you can see the invitation that I was asked to match.

It was awful. Someone had a grudge against the owner. They never found out who did it either. There were about 7 "cakes" in the display. Me and the other decorator had to redo them all. Some of them were more elaborate than that one. Oh and fab work on your cakes.

My first sculpted duck. I'll see if I can find a pic of the goose that I did and won an award for.
These are all very beautiful!
I told her the NICEST people are on the DIS!

I have to agree with you Tom! I can't wait to see what you make out of that fabric! When I asked Lydia what we should do with it, she said, "Make a blanket!" That's what she ALWAYS wants to do with fabric she loves!

Today is the big dance and Megan woke up with a cold. I knew she was a little off yesterday. Knowing her, she will fight through it, she is not a big wimp like me. She is very excited and already drew a picture of her and her dad at the dance. I will post pictures tonight!

Those are so cute!!!
All day kindergarten won't be a good thing for my poor sister!! :sad2: She's going to be a basketcase.
This is so very true! I actually picked up the phone a little while ago so that I could call to register her for Kindergarten Roundup, but I started crying and couldn't do it! I know, I'm pitiful! I would blame it on her being my last baby, but truth be told, I got this way with Corey and Arminda too! But, it does seem a bit worse with my baby baby going to school! (all day every day!) Good thing I love the teacher!

It's okay, just take a deep breath, no one will touch the styrafoam, it's okay.
I don't know Heather, this is just too much for me! Kindergarten registrations, then my worst fear turned into a CAKE!!! :scared1:
Oh the humanity!

Well, I find your reply interesting! I agree, breastfeeding helps you to lose weight! You just have to be really careful when you STOP nursing!

Okay, you've got me thinking I need a pair of decoupage capris for our trip!!!!
I was thinking you needed a pair when I saw those too! I would like some too!

I've seen that done before in bakeries. I just have an unnatural fear of stryofoam! I was just joshin with yah! ;)

No, not overload! These are so cute!!! I love the Hello Kitty cake! I am going to show this to Lyddy! She'll be begging her Aunt Heather to make one! ;) (Heather is our "official" cake maker in the family!)

I just got an email from Deann, tnmom25. She is ok!!!!!! I'm so relieved to find out she is ok, I'm crying! As most of you know, Deann lives in Tennesse, where the tornados hit the other day.

Here's her email:

That's great! I have family in Fairview and some of them had quite a bit of damage.

I'm feeling motivated to actually do something to day- I got about 10 projects to choose from so I will be back.......with pictures!!

~I love those decoupage pants.

~The cakes are Beautiful!!

~That Baby Saylor- What a Doll- I love her baby hair. Good luck at the competitions!!!

~Teresa- I think you'll just have to go to your sisters house and spend some time with your little nephew to help you through the day. Just a thought :)
