Has anyone but me noticed that the pictures of the kids covered in marker are all BOYS!!!!! As the mother of a boy that markered the wall the day after it was painted and the grandmother of Russell(disneylovinfamily) I'd say there must be something with these guys and their need to mark their turf!
It's not just boys that mark themselves. I have many times had to wash marker off of Jenna. She was banned from having markers from the age of 2 until she turned 5. My neice painted herself airplane gray. It took my sister 2 days to get all the paint off of her. She had to call the Poison Control Center to make sure that she didn't use anything harmful to get it off of her.

It was actually the GROOMS mother that was wacky! The brides parents were barely acknowledged. It was W E I R D!

I'm working on using that ignore feature right now!! THANKS SALLY!

I'll have to PM you once everything settles down but I belong to another list that deals with inlaw issues, sounds like your poor niece is going to need it. Her MIL sounds horrid. I can't imagine my MIL going on my honeymoon, who does that?! :scared1:

love y'all girlies...and Tom.

Hope the sun is shining brightly wherever y'all are!

It's so pretty here today and our pool opened this weekend and the kids are BESIDE themselves to swim!

they are going to FREEZE though!

oh well...the little otters will LOVE it anyway!!!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Weather around here has been weird. We had snow in April and then last weekend we had record highs - upper 90s in most areas with many areas going over 100! You know that's unusual when the local news stations are mentioning that several cities in the area went over 100 for the year before Phoenix, AZ did. LOL This weekend we're having temps in the 60s and 70s. Last night we had a thunder/lightning along with a few showers. I'm ready for warmer weather, that's for sure, but not quite as hot as last weekend. :goodvibes

Isn't this a strip work jumper or a simply sweet dress by CarlaC (if not very similar)?? and isn't that a face from a pillow case?? I am HONESTLY asking because I am confused about how you do not want to be copied - many people have posted (both before and after you) similar dresses. . . so dunno how that one is "original" or how not to copy you?? I understand you are upset about the children's pictures. . . and honestly I don't even know if it was you or not, but whoever was upset about their stuff being copied and sold as originals, I agree with you that was plain wrong. . . I just don't get why even if we have differing opinions we must argue and post petty things. Let's try to stick to the golden rule, and get back at not only inspiring one another but at being friendly and supportive of one another. This was a happy and safe space for us to enjoy one another's internet company, I hope it gets back there soon!

Hope you don't really leave - it has never been like this before on here!

I was the one who brought up case'ing for profit so I am glad you agree with me.

Let me tell you a bit about this dress. My DD3 (now is four) wanted to wear a special dress to her Great Grandfathers 89th bday party. She picked out the pillowcase. I then made the pattern for the dress. I did not use anyone elses. The back is shirrred. She then was given a couple ideas for the skirt part. She picked strips over a solid or patchwork etc . . . It is not personally my favorite dress. I feel my skills are better but she loves it and that is what counts!

OH DEAR LOOK WHAT THEY DID NOW!!!!

They took off the hand and replaced it with this!!!

Wow Teresa for someone who wants things to calm down you sure do like to fan the flames HUH ?

Just a few years back, when I was a little girl :rolleyes1 I had taken a tube of my mothers lipstick and chose to color myself with it :scared1: My parents were in the process of a divorce and it didn't go over well.

Between the weather and the sharks eating people, I find it very scary!
But we are having a nice day for a change.

This is my first and last post on the subject - Just remember you were the one who stated "I have outgrown childish games" yet your signature pic and this post say otherwise.

I really need to do some stuff- well, at least my living room is picked up.

Markers are NOT allowed to roam free in this house! LOL, they must be on leashes at all times...so to speak....I keep them in a zip lock baggy, and rubber stamps have their own bag, crayons another.

She likes to try to eat markers and crayons, so I keep them up out of reach for now..

Okay- I took one indoor shot, and then went outdoors
so, would it look silly to do the peplum sides in the rainbow and the blue sheer up top- somehow rainbow all over seemed like it might be too over powering- and might lose any resemblance to Cinderella.
The pattern also calls for 3/8th inch sequin trim- I really dont know what that looks like and the pattern photos are terrible.
Also not positive how i will handle the bottom ruffle- it calls for pre-gathered lace, and I really love a ruffle, but then I was wondering about doing a ruffle and then a slightly shorter lace pre-gathered on top....
This is for pattern #4949-Simplicity

sparkle satin

blue sheen on left-has slightly more stiffness to it, rainbow-very soft and sheer on right, blue satin sparkle in the middle

and if anyone is interested , I found the rainbow earlier this week at Wal Mart for 99 cents a yard!

YES!!! She did go on the honeymoon with them!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: Seriously, she did!

Honestly, she is going to join them on the honeymoon? Are you kidding me? There is no way I would EVER allow that to happen. And thankfully neither would my DH!

That is just yucky! Are they all going to share a room too? :rotfl2:

What does the groom's father think about this?

Ooh, I'm one up on you :laundy: is done, just the ironing left  .

I've just had my machine serviced and the guy said to me 'boy you do some sewing' and so I asked how he could tell - the reply...... the birds nest worth of fluff he pulled out of it :rolleyes1 . No one told me I had to clean the bits I couldn't see as well as the ones I could!!!

Almost forgot - post some pictures and lets see what you had in mind!

So how do you clean your machine? I guess I should have asked that before I got started sewing! I've had my machine for about 8 months and I haven't been the most ambitious sewer but I'm sure I have my share of fluff in it! Also, how much (approximately) does it cost to have it serviced? Thanks for all of your help!

Oh Lori that's not a game that's my copyright signature for any photos I take as was suggested :) .

Ok - I lied - another post (from a poster who feels pretty neutral on the original subject btw). That may be - but you have to admit it was done for reasons other than copyright - otherwise it would say your name or "please don't copy" instead of the snappy wording you used. And, I am thinking, in order to truly keep your designs safe I would not post them anywhere - there are always people who will copy - some out of flattery and personal use - some for not so nice reasons and profit. I am trying to say this in a helpful respectful way so I hope that is how it is viewed.

I want some of that rainbow material, but I just can't decide what to do with it. I did make Jenna a pre-shirred top that had that same rainbow fabric over a pretty pink fabric. I wouldn't do two different types of the sheer fabric, but the rainbow would be cute just to be a princess.

Also please stop making me feel sad that I decided to join instead of lurking. I LOVE looking at all of your beautiful children in their outfits. The most I ever sewed for my kids was Halloween outfits. I wish I had half the talent all of you have. And to toot my own horn, I bought disneylovinfamily her sewing machine and I can't be any prouder of her if she were my own daughter. She has come so far and some credit has to go to all of you for encouraging her. THANKS!

You are the sweetest! I love you too.:lovestruc I am so glad that I am not hand sewing anymore. I need to get my painting done so I can work on all my sewing to get this thread back on topic.

If this thread was closed, I would be extemely sad, so please everyone just stop. Teresa and Heather have done everything people have asked so let it go. THere are some people being very childish (you know who you are) and it is sad. I am not trying to make trouble and have kept quiet the entire time but I am begging certain people to just stop so us that want to continue to share and inspire each other can do so and if you don't then by all means move on to a different thread and don't post here if it upsets you.

No that is my actual copyright. I did'nt know there was a law against being witty about it. I do appreciate your words Lori and I thank you for your advice and I take it in the spirit is was offered.

It is not our place to decide how she wants to copyright her photos, is it?

BTW, I honestly don't know why she is being singled out as the person who removed the extra files from the PB site. There were lots of us wanting our pictures out so why her? I know there were lots of us in the PB site until late in the night/early morning removing pictures of our kids and our designs and none of us deleted whole files.

Seriously, you post a password on a PUBLIC site for the world to see... anyone could have done it. So, don't single people out unless you have proof!

Feel free to get back to your lovey, dovey, sugary posts while adding pointless Epcot ball/troll pictures to ignore the issues and fan the flames.

I also know for a fact that the person in question didn't remove the Epcot ball picture that was posted the first time.

Your welcome - but I have been kind - and you had to jab with with law comment which is really pretty silly. Something doesn't have to be against the law to be unkind. I'm done.

That is ENOUGH! Why would anyone remove the picture my nephew took of the Epcot ball with a hat on top!!?? PLEASE leave us alone!! If we want to post pointless pictures, why can't we? We're just trying to move on and were hoping posting funny pictures might help.

jham,
do you have a copy of that pattern? if so may I have copy of it, if you can? it's ok if you do not want to. refer to post 1790
thank you

Hi, I just traced a shirt I already had onto some Christmas wrapping paper and cut it out. It is too large to try and scan, but if you'd like I can go and measure my pattern pieces for you. The back piece was almost rectangular (narrower at the top) and the front piece, well looked like it does with the ties coming out the top. Sorry, I know that wasn't very helpful. Let me know if you want some better measurements/instructions.

And YESSSSSS that ignore list thingy is magical! pixiedust:
